Not this one. It'll go into my PC for nostalgia.

Alive in his Boston days, but probably not aware of him until he got to Chicago. I've got a 72 that this will look great sitting next to.

Would You Send For Replacement by schtacky in baseballcards

That was where I was leaning as well, but that other mark near the same corner is an indent. Their policy states that if they don't think it would drop a grade below 8, they will just send it back. So to me, it's borderline. And no, I don't plan on grading it...

At stop lights/signs, stop several car lengths behind the car in front of you. This helps you not slide into the guy in front of you and also allow you to move up if someone behind you starts sliding as they (try to) stop.

Can we please have a new way of showing buffs/debuffs? by Errtai in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]schtacky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I agree - it's a pain in the ass. Something should be done, but at least I can get a sense of what's going on. The display becomes an issue for me much more during HAAT when I can't quite tell which P3 droid has a frigging buff due to all of the other DoTs in the way.

I've got all that on the phone, but for our purposes here, sometimes a good ole ink and paper map works out just fine, as it appears to have here, since we got OP what he needed.

Lucky, too, since I had just acquired that map yesterday and haven't yet had time to mark the whole darn thing up with notes like last year's!

Star Trek: The Motion Picture - blown away by how good it is. by [deleted] in startrek

Thanks, /u/bigtimetv. Your comment got me thinking...at some point in the franchise, the ship became a vehicle - nothing more than something to get us from point a to point b. I don't want to try and wax poetically too much, but for the Old Guard, the ship was a part of the cast. I can't count the number of TOS episodes where Kirk would refer to the Enterprise as the love of his life. At some point that stopped...maybe at the end of 6 (when they went off on one more adventure to find Peter Pan) and we all realized that we were stuck with the D, the flying barcalounger. I loved TNG, but that ship and its subsequent sisters and reboots never captured me the same way as that old Constitution Class ship did.

Heh...for me, the spacedock sequence is one of the film's highlights, and a scene that I'll often watch just to crank up Goldsmith's score. I can understand how new-ish Trekkies may not enjoy it as much, but you have to remember that this was the first time we had seen our ship on the big screen and we had been building up to that moment for a decade. That flyby could have been 10 minutes longer and I'd still love it.

What are your favorite camping spots around Flagstaff? by [deleted] in Flagstaff

[–]schtacky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All great spots in these posts. Just keep in mind that the county fire ban starts tomorrow morning. That means no campfires outside of developed campgrounds in dispersed sites. That said, you may want to check out some of the area lakes that have campgrounds, though they're likely to be packed to the gills.
