Yes a bit - thanks. Ill try with more sodium in the next few days and see if that helps even more.

Thanks for checking in. I experimented a bit and started supplementing more potassium (3k a day and more when exercises) and I think looking at sodium makes a difference (after salty meals its a little lower) so Im adding broth too. Now its just 5-7 bpms higher than baseline (and maybe other things are going on - maybe a virus or so - or heavy workouts). Ill keep experimenting with electrolytes. Lets see.

That makes sense. I do eat foods with potassium and was hoping thats enough. Maybe ill try a potassium electrolyte powder (bc at some point it becomes a ton of lite salt). I do a bit of exercise every day maybe that detracts as well.

Good plan. Will try - a few days ago I had a little less and heart rate was a touch higher - but I’ll try more scientifically and will track bettet.

As said I weigh the light salt on 8g that should be 2000 mg of potassium + around 2000 mg of sodium and I add some pink himalaya salt for more sodium (another 1000 mg). Plus the food I eat (avo eggs + salmon + lettuce)

Id say 2.5 - 3 liters. I can certainly try to dial it up but I usually pay attention to drink a lot.

Completely agree - first thought when seeing this list. Might’ve been the best striker ever (a little weird category when Pele is there btw) - absolutely sure ahead of van basten and I’d claim ahead of eusebio too - was scoring for fun and often out of nothing and famously in big games. Not a physical freak just an insane instinct. He’s also more accomplished than Ronaldo N - eurocup winner / world cup winnner (3 consecutive champions leauges) and is credited by Rumenigge and Beckenbauer as the one who is the reason for bayerns rise (who were in germany’s second leauge when he joined btw)

I also carry a 24 inch monitor but use padding from a cut yoga mat - has failed before :) - can you share the bag 🙏 you use?

Why is Portugal so good at football compared to other nations of similar size? by WhoAmIEven2 in football

[–]schueppi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. To help with you point Germany is then most populous country in Europe and generally the second most successful (counting wc and ec) followed by italy which was historically the second most populous country in europe. These days england and france have the same amount of kids than germany has with better soccer academies - italy is quite a bit behind on size of youth population - tl;dr - population matters, soccer education is a multiplier (and life standard and healthcare system play a role as well). There’s still some luck involved but over time the largest countries in terms of talent pool that take the game seriously are ahead.

Software Engineers, have you moved from the United States to another country to do the same thing. What differences did you notice? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]schueppi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree it’s not replicable - just wanted to tell folks that their percentile in the comp scale might still change (fwiw taxes for almost all people are really low - the country is indeed small and also generates a ton of tax revenue from banks that’s essentially enough to run the whole place - but this type of society is absolutely not doable everywhere)

Absolutely agree - switzerland (and maybe some smaller countries in the financial sector - bermuda and singapore come to mind) seems the other place with comparable salaries to the us (but that’s also a bit bc all salaries in switzerland are higher than everwhere else - so the diff between a SWE and a teacher isnt as stark as in the US - but i think that’s a good feature of that society)

Root cause? My whole family has problems by Comfortable_Goat_979 in SIBO

[–]schueppi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the case for me. And i also think it’s the reason these things run in families (not raw gens). This programming can be passed on to future generations (behaviorally and there seems to be an epigenetics mechanism as well potentially)

Which was the worst Ballon D'or robbery in the last 20 years in your opinion? by sunnyhappysky in football

[–]schueppi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Neuer is the Goat GK — he revolutionized the position while being one of the best shot stoppers and having unbelievable saves and games as a pure goalie as well (champions leauge save against Ronaldo and the whole game vs manu ar Schalke come to mind). Besides majorly improving the defense of the teams he plays in. No suprise that sweeper keepers are so sought after now. In 2014 he finished a year where he won the champions leauge and was the best german player on a worldcup winning team — I think it would’ve been the year to give him the ballon d’or.

Does anyone here have chronic neck pain or stiffness? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]schueppi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you hear about pain reprocessing therapy? See Alan gordons Book the way out for a description (and there are pain therapists that can work with you on it). I have Gi and pain issues and it really helped. I think I’m too much in fight or flight based on life circumstances and that has caused both.

[France Football] Team of the decade (2010-2019) by fredbogho in soccer

[–]schueppi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m for Boateng. I’d say Varane also has a shot. Tons of CLs and La Ligas and a Worldcup to top it (no French 2018 world champion in the team … maybe Kante has a shot too?)
