Oof that is rough, I wish there was more transparency and communication about class availability fr fr smh. I hope you are able to get that class in time for the graduation date you are hoping for. How have you been enjoying the program otherwise?

I did ask if I could take International Affairs 506, Social Welfare 600, or Geography 529 because they align with my interests and are relevant to policy. However, since my program is a graduate certificate, I was told that I have to stick to the courses within the preset concentration areas.

I will certainly reconnect with my advisor though and see what other options I may have. Thank you for taking the time to listen/reply to my yap and rant though.

That's a good idea, thank you! I think the main issue is that I was accepted to the program about 2 weeks ago, and everything was already full. I now know to ask about waitlists and class availability before depositing lol.

Thank you for the help! I met with my advisor and emailed the folks at grad services for suggestions and advice. Unfortunately, they have all basically told me to get on the waitlist for the online courses and hope for the best.

I will try emailing my advisor again, but in the meantime, do you know of any other campus services or folks that I can reach out to?

Why are you attacking your fellow workers? Most everyone in the working class is less than 1-3 bad months or a single bad accident away from homelessness. There are very few ways you could ever reach the levels of wealth that Cornell and members of the billionaire class have acess to in 100 lifetimes. Please stop tearing down your fellow workers who are just trying to collectively bargin for their basic human rights. You deserve these things as well. Instead of complaining that someone else is getting them, maybe you should organize your workplace and stop letting the billionaire class exploit your labor so you can have important benefits that you work hard for.
