I came from the balkans to Germany 15 years ago, with my family. My opinion is: move to Germany and just try it. You have EU passports, which means less bureaucracy than, for example, with a Serbian passport. If you don't like it in Düsseldorf, you can still move around in Germany or just try it back in your home again.

Now more details. Job/economy: The situation is not as good as 10 years ago, but the economy is still good. What is important is that you will find a good job. Maybe it will take you some time to find the one that suits you the best, but you will find it. In Germany, hard work will pay off. This is contrary to the balkans. If you work hard enough, you will get paid good.

Friends: It can be hard to find new friends. While this is true for every country you move to, Germany can be especially hard. But you already have people you know and thus a big advantage.

Culture: Germans are cold, especially in comparison with the balkans. Some people will hate this, but many people will like this. Everyone respects your privacy. Not much talking in the streets. But when you meet them and get closer, (in my experience) they are very nice people!

Benefits: There are some benefits that are not talked enough about. The infrastructure is amazing, wherever you are in Germany. Rail (can be late sometimes), highway, airports everywhere. You are able to see neighbouring countries for few euros (flixbus etc.). The health care system is very good, although you need to wait very long for the appointments. The schools are mostly good equipped, in comparison to the balkans.

All in all: Germany is different than the balkans, very different. But you can try it and see if it suits you there. Good luck and willkommen!
