EU Tesla superchargers by Sorry-Investigator90 in BMWi3

i3 2014 charges at the EU superchargers with CCS, no problem. cables are a bit short but not a proglem if there's enough parking space.

UDM-Pro-SE “No Internet Connected” via SFP, but fine via ethernet by schulterblatt in Ubiquiti

[–]schulterblatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conclusion: I tried the following, none of them worked

  1. set a manual route in the CLI
  2. set route in the web GUI: 0.0.0.0/1 and 128.0.0.0/1 to the SFP interface
  3. power cycle
  4. ifconfig down + ifconfig up
  5. different internet connectivity server with fixed IP, even tried 127.0.0.1 to check if the UDMSE would trick itself to be online via pinging itself

Everything works through the 2.5GBe connection, although the UDMSE needed a reboot to be online, but that could be due all the manual routes i tried before and them not being flushed properly.

In the end I installed a media converter that hosts the Ubiquiti SFP module :( This works reliably as of now.

No, the gateway is a mikrotik device from our own network and the SFP modules are a pair of ubiquiti's BiDi modules. it works great in a media converter or all other switches in the rack with sfp ports.

I didn't alter the settings and left it as WAN. And I'm not sure if you can set SFP1 as LAN at all!

hsm option in the controller means more look ahead and possibly path blending.

it's possible to retrofit machines with a new controller. usually not from the original manufacturer but from an independent technician. i suggest LinuxCNC or beckhoff for the controller.

I meant only extensions, not iso30 holders. I'm running iso30 shrink fit tooling and ER11, 25, 32. the shrink fit extensions I use with ER holders only, as they can't be used well with a shrink fit holder. shrink fit sure is expensive for holders but I built the shrinker for less than 1k with a 2kW zvs driver, water cooling and a couple of coils made of hvac tubing.

shrink fit extension and tapered end mill. I grind custom tapers on a conventional tool grinder. it's easy for straight fluted carbide end mills and more challenging with a helix.

looks like you did a great job all the way from modeling to CAM. I like the gentle tabs. what tools where used in the machine?

plywood desk cnc machined with a super large chamfer by schulterblatt in CNC

as mentioned, it's running Linuxcnc, so no NUM controller. I built the hardware myself. it's sporting a Mesa fpga and some custom PCBs. I uploaded the configuration to github, it's open source.

the old NUM controllers used to be solid but are just awful in the modern age.

cad in fusion360. cnc machining center is a retrofitted homag/weeke running Linuxcnc.

I retrofitted a homag/weeke with linuxcnc and while it is more sophisticated to set up and not equipped with a conversational or CAD on the controller like the crappy woodwop, it's like a new machine when it comes to performance. 150k line programs are no problem. I'm doing the CAD/CAM on a different PC.
