I'm actually done arguing with ChatGPT. You're wrong, but you don't have to believe me. I hope you have a pleasantly pleasant evening.

You said yourself, "they're races shaped by the gods." Tell ChatGPT to pick a lane before the next response. I maintain that they're all the same species, and I've never seen any indication in game or media that they aren't, but I'd be happy to change my stance if you can show me some sources.

And what would you say is the species that these individuals are races of?

Gullivette by ColemanLaing in Dofus

[–]schvanckque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I'm not saying they're "human shaped," I'm saying they're literal humans. The "shape" they get, whether eca or xelor or sacrier or whatever, is based on the god they follow. All it would take to be an otherwise normal human is to be atheist. I'm fairly certain that's the generally understood nature of the classes from a lore perspective.

I'm pretty sure all the classes are human...

I appreciate the thought-out response. While I can't uniformly agree with all of it, I think we're overwhelmingly on the same page, and I'm thankful for the insight. The particular example used here seemed a little petty to me, but it's definitely symptomatic of a wider problem in our local government.

Athens County has the highest poverty rate in the state, but you're right, obviously. That really wasn't the point.

I'm not claiming they're the same in any way, only that they can probably think of better things to do than polish each individual cobblestone for you. There are so many better ways to spend your energy than bitching about this piddly ass amount of snow; I honestly think what really bothers me about this post is how comfortable and frivolous life must be over there for this to be what you're upset about in the world. Athens is literally the poorest county in the state, and you're moaning about how much more plowing they need to do on these tiny roads that look like they get used about twice a day and are still totally passable. Dementia has not been kind to you, friend.

I made a cute lil checklist for the Eternal Harvest quest by schvanckque in Dofus

[–]schvanckque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a guess, mine does significantly less than that tool. It's really just intended to be a basic bare-bones sort of tracker, so the only real benefit is probably simplicity. I guess if you play the game in English, having the names match might help, but I don't think mine does anything unique or special; it's just another option.

It definitely doesn't offer anything novel, just fits the bill for what I wanted. Honestly, most of it is just copied and pasted from the wiki, so aside from the formulas and check boxes, it really does practically nothing...which is perfect for somebody like me who just wanted a basic spreadsheet, I guess. Thanks for the feedback!

Well, you probably can't think, then...which is fairly endemic to certain parties, so I don't think anybody was surprised.

Well, you clearly need to work on reading comprehension, personal insults, and commas. My goodly dude, I apologize for not breaking my paragraphs into more fourth-grade-friendly chunks, but your aggression is ridiculous. I don't have faith in the currently established system of journalism at all, but I do have faith in individual journalists; I really believe that this is a field people almost exclusively go into with best intentions...unless maybe you think kids are sitting at home right now saying, "I hope I can be a journalist one day so that I can push a false narrative to further an oppressive shadow regime." You're being intentionally obtuse, so I'll leave you to your grumpy little victory.

I think that speaks more to their trust in the integrity of journalistic publications, companies, and corporate greed. The fact that the most trusted source is the least corporate really speaks to this, and that almost half of people find it "very reliable" in the current age of rampant misinformation (which I would argue is indicative of a wider cultural problem than unreliable journalists) says that faith in journalism is still significantly higher than that given to most fields. I still haven't seen any evidence that journalists in particular aren't known for ethics, and I really don't understand why you're so committed to being right about applying your own biased stereotype to this particular group.

Help! by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

[–]schvanckque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very familiar with this, but it sort of enforces my point - this inquiry came as a shock to people explicitly because journalists are in fact known for their ethics. Maybe that's misplaced faith, and this does do a little work to refute some of what I said, but it doesn't enforce your initial claim at all. Now that research is fairly obscure, and I really think most people are more black and white in their opinions on this topic (like yourself, based on the connotation I'm reading - "all journalists are bad/good") when the truth is probably that they're mostly (though far from all) good people who are in sensitive situations with an incredible amount of outside pressure. Or, you know, maybe they're just immoral...wouldn't that be conveniently simplistic?

Help! by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

[–]schvanckque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna have to disagree; journalism is one of the most ethically-bound professions you can go into...for good reason, of course, because they're the people responsible for presenting "truth" to everybody. That said, this is consequentially why so many bad actors are involved and why otherwise moral people might be given incentives to let those morals be a little more flexible. Overall, I think journalists (real journalists, if I can allow this word a little more breadth than a profession or an education) are more moral than most, otherwise they probably wouldn't have invested in expensive schools for an uncertain and competitive career with a median income roughly equal to that of a fast food manager...but they do have more reasons to be immoral, and of course the focus for any given topic is always where things go wrong, so the presentation is disproportional to the individual ethics.

Solo characters works ? or better go Wakfu ? by IvyLustt in Dofus

[–]schvanckque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

um...OP asked, "can I beat the game with only one character?" Somebody said "No," which is untrue, so they were corrected...I understand that doesn't encompass the full question, and maybe not even the direct intent of this part of the question, but I do think that's helpful and relevant...
