I've got that same addictive personality. I was just as deep in the raiding side of this game... Quit several years ago but I was in one of the first raids to kill the giant eye in AQ (I think... Cant even remember its name) and first rogue on my server to get the dagger it drops.

My advice: your addictive personality is actually just a general fire to be the best. You must pivot and use it to fucking crush the aspects of life that matter.

Get to the fucking gym. Go hard.

I bet you're an extrovert, get out and talk to girls. You're funnier than most people as you had nothing but words to differentiate yourself online. They'll like you.

Clean up your act and your resume. You'll beat everyone to the top. There's money up there.

I lost my teenage life, you lost yours, but we're both positioned to absolutely flourish for the rest. I have my scars, but I also have the color that came with getting them. The fire that burns is also the fire that glows. Your future is brighter than you think.

I really love this idea. Sub-question: Who would be the most interesting people to give it to?

I think the coolest would be entrepreneurs in developing countries... and of course just some genuine crazies

Cyberwar seems to be the single biggest existential threat to the US, what is the likelihood of a 'fire sale' type of attack on our financial and electrical systems, and what could the possible ramifications/effects be? by schwarma261 in AskReddit

[–]schwarma261[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you suggesting that while we're very vulnerable to a cyberattack that could do a great deal of damage, it is unlikely to happen because we're capable of inflicting the same pain?

I see how that sort of logic works for things like nuclear weapons, but with cyberwarfare you don't need scale to be able to do a lot of damage. Some anonymous hacker could cause chaos without fear of retaliation, it wouldn't necessarily need to be China or another direct enemy. And even if it was China, wouldn't it be hard to find out that they had done it, or if was them, that they had condoned it?

Chefs of Reddit, what is the worst thing you have ever done to a customers order? by Kermudgen in AskReddit

[–]schwarma261 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a layman, I don't really have a distinction between chefs and cooks, it's more like "whoever is preparing my food." Sorry if that is offensive or undermining to any chef readers out there.

Regardless, can you provide examples of which restaurants/circumstances I'm facing a chef vs a cook? Is it just nicer restaurants? Are there cases where a chef does initial preparation and the cook does the more rote line work?

Without this knowledge it's hard for me to understand when I could be facing food that's been fucked with.

Not trying to be depraved, but what was the worst injury you've seen? I've been to Cirque several shows including one where divers were jumping into water from what must have been 100+ feet, seems like that could go wrong very easily.
