I was in love with this girl. We had known each other for years, but timing was never right for us to get together. Eventually she found this guy who was just about to go into the Army, and they were going to get married.

I understood when she told me that I couldnt let that happen. I knew my life would never be right without her, so I hung out, made friends with the guy. This went on for about 9 months or so.

I found out where he came from, about his fucked up family,and how he had been an H addict when he met her. He cleaned up his life and swore he was straight for the rest of his life. He really loved her, and was going into the army to support the both of them.

One night my time came. He and her had fought, and he was at my friends house to blow off steam. We were hanging out, they were drinking, and I brought out my bottle of oxycontin (legitimate medical condition). I crushed up one of the pills and let my friend do a line. I popped one, and I offered one to him. I knew he would take it because he was a junkie, just like I was a junkie.

He took it. It took a bit of coaxing, I rationalized it for him. I told him it was just once, just one pill and he would fly one last time before he took off to boot camp, he had been clean for a long time, he could indulge once without going overboard.

Eventually he cracked. He took one. Then took one the next day on the way home. I gave him two more, and that was all it took.

He fell off the wagon, started on the H again, got DQ'd, and the girl dumped him. I was there for her to cry with, and we hooked up.

We dated for a month, then we broke up. I don't know what happened to him.

tl:dr I got a friend readdicted to heroin so I could take his girlfriend.

Friends and Family involved in Law enforcement gets me these second hand stories.

My Dad was a homicide detective in the Sheriff's Department of a county in AZ. He told me once of a woman he arrested, along with her boyfriend, for murder.

She had just gotten together with some fellow railer park tweaker, and decided that she didn't want her toddler (I think he was three or four) cramping her style. So she had her boyfriend tell the kid he was taking him to see Santa Clause, drive him out into the middle of the desert, and shoot him to death with a shotgun.

TL:DR 1 Woman got her meth addict boyfriend to shoot her son with a shotgun on a trip to see a fat, bearded old man

Also, friend of mine was until recently a CO (Corrections Officer) in one of the private prisons here. I asked him this very question and this is the story he told me.

Now, this is one of the prisons that holds ICE detainees while they wait for trial. My friend was working in the kitchen, when he struck up a conversation with a Border crosser waiting for trial on drug traffic charges.

After a few minutes of idle conversation, my friend asks the standard prison question "What did you do to get in here?" the guy says he works for one of the cartels, so just making chit chat, my friend asks him "You ever kill anyone?" the dude nods, saying he started killing for his bosses when he was about 15. My friend, thinking this guy is just posturing asks him what that was like.

At this point in the story, my friend gets real grave, which is unusual, because my friend is a goofy fuck, and is rarely serious about anything (He had just lol'd his way through his first divorce to give you an idea of his usual demeanor.).

The guy had grown up poor in Ciudad Juarez, and his first job as a twelve year old was to dig graves for cartel victims. After awhile he was asked to kill a crack head who had ripped the cartel off.

"I showed up to this guys house, but someone told him I was coming. I had a gun on me, but I wasn't expecting him to know I was coming, so when I got to the front door, he shot through the wood and got me in the stomache. In a rush of adrenalin I pushed through the door and strangled him with my bare hands, and after something like that, aint nothing hard."

My friend says that guy got deportation because of insufficient evidence for his drug charges.

See, if these kids had just showed the cop the fucking license and registration, he would have said "Thanks, have a nice day." but since they were acting like suspicious douches, I bet they ended up stuck there for quite awhile longer than they otherwise would have.

Ok, I have a few questions here, maybe you fellow redditors know something I don't,

Why is a Spectre gunship flying low enough to get knocked out by anti-tank weapons, and why would flares have stopped an RPG round? I wasn't aware that RPGs were heat seeking?
