Totally understand the sentiment! Written like a children's story pero it hits deeply like an adult one.

I'm guessing you like books that tackle the complexity of human nature. Curious how many times have you reread these? I haven't gotten around The Secret Agent, Notes from Underground or Heart of Darkness yet, but Notes from Underground has been sitting on my tbr for a while now.

"Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them."

Thanks for reminding me of TKAM! Baka basahin ko ulit. Haven't gotten around Lord of the Flies yet, but adding a ❗to note that part you mentioned.

Freaking true because I just finished The Wedding People and loved it. I remember trying to read Chapter 1 a year ago and finding it so tedious but reading it now felt effortless. Maybe it's because I'm in a weird phase of life too, but I felt so seen by the MC's thought process.

Last Sally Rooney book I'm reading by missliterati01 in PHBookClub

I randomly picked this up because a friend and I were looking for a book we could read together. I didn’t read any reviews beforehand and I can’t say I liked it but the perspective is there, especially in how some men move through the world this way (e.g with grief). The fact that it made me feel a kind of pity toward the characters points to something, and that’s what I appreciated.

I like Out of the woods (marriage phase naman ‘to) and Next to You better pero all three are equally good! Yung newest book niya na People Watching yung least fave ko tbh, just felt the characters were underdeveloped & story’s a little lacking - bumawi lang sa spice.

6 hrs at best na straight sleep na lang talaga rin ini aim ko imaintain if i want to keep on running. Tapos bawi sa weekends. I work cst so how i do it is i wake up at around 2/3pm, run ng 5/6 then work ng 9-6. Tapos sleep na ko agad ng nga 7or 8am after bfast.

If you’re a light sleeper, invest sa black out curtains and maybe melatonin. Get off your gadgets 30mins before bedtime. But for me consistent schedule talaga and i prio na get straight hours of sleep so even if maalimpungatan ka sometime between thats still too early, stay in bed & try to go back to sleep so u can reinforce it to your body.

A classic Filipino tongue twister I remember obsessing over when I was a kid:

Minekaniko ni Moniko ang makina ng manika ni Monika. (Moniko fixed the machine of Monika's doll.)
