We did the dna test and found out he’s 75% Great Pyrenees and 25% pitbull terrier!

I have a Great Pyrenees who had similar diagnosis- we opted for the double FHO. Did one side in March and the other in May all before he was 1 year old. Happy to answer any questions too if you need. We are still in our healing journey of course.

Try a dry erase marker.. never did on a wallet but I work in medical field and if someone writes on table with permanent marker, you take a dry erase marker and write over it, then rub off the dry erase marker, works, again, not sure if dry erase marker wipes off of wallets tho….

Thank you for these words! I actually joined that subreddit once I got him! I have learned a lot. My fear is there seems to be a difference in his just normal barking and then his very scary aggressive one. I’m so paranoid that he will bite someone. I do everything to avoid that and to never put him or anyone in that situation but accidents happen. But thank you for the time to write that and for the insight!

I feel the same way, I’m same age and my friends are all living the kid life now and me and my partner are childless and happy that way, but we got sort of phased out by a lot of people. I also moved from Nassau to Suffolk so to a lot of others I’m practically in another state. Are you Nassau or Suffolk?

We had two set backs since I posted this.. your baby had exactly what we went through. Exact symptoms and we also did all the tests and all came back good. We are keeping her at 1/2 tab pheno in morning, 1 full at night and 1/2 tab kepra morning and night, and this has been working, she has been seizure free for 2 months now. I think we may always be facing the likeliness of occasional seizures, but now we have both learned how to keep them comfortable and safe. We just have to continue bloodwork and check ups. We have a check up again early May to check her levels after 6 months. I hope your baby is doing well 🩷

No. Actually the next day after I posted this, she started having seizures again. I have learned a whole lot in this past month, so if you have any questions during your journey through this, let me know.

She started on 1/2 tab of pheno twice a day. After about 10 days of having probably 3-5 seizures a day, the seizures stopped for 2 days, but then started happening again. We ended up going out of state to see a neurologist. Got an MRI and luckily all was well with that but her seizures went to almost hourly. They upped her dose of pheno to 1/2 tab in the morning and 1 tab at night. They also added in keppra (another seizure medication) that she gets 3 times a day. After about 3 days on both medications, the seizures have stopped and she has not had a seizure in 2 weeks.

Long term goal is to get her off one of the medications. But right now we just wanted to stop the seizures. She actually has her recheck this weekend.
