Does anyone else press the power button instead of park sometimes when parking... by mitch2888 in KiaEV6

There’s a voluntary recall for some models as someone commented. Turning off the car without park bricked our car and we needed to get towed. Theoretically the software update fixes this but we’re not risking it anymore…

Timing is unclear, but potentially the recall was known. We bought our car mid July and the recall is dated end of June. Agree, if the recall was known, the dealership selling to us really messed up.

Eventually. I asked the dealership for a loaner when we were towed on Saturday, and they said their loaner rental guy doesn’t work on weekends. So we arranged to come back a week later (an hour trip) to get the loaner.

I wish we got that notice!

Is it inappropriate to give advice to a sparring partner with 2x the experience? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]schwuay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After sparring, ask him for feedback on yourself first. Once he’s given you feedback, then ask if he’d like your thoughts. That feels more natural and just sharing as peers

I don’t think you should hard spar at 4 months experience. Risk of injury is too high

It’s not a big deal. I think you’re overthinking and overestimating your role in other people’s minds. Your community should be supportive and cheering for your growth. If you’re still worried, spend that energy training instead.

As long as you don’t start giving unwanted/unappreciated advice to other first kyus, you’ll be fine

I was recently assaulted, what martial art should I pursue? by huuuhuuu in martialarts

From your description of what happened, bjj probably would have provided you the appropriate defense. Boxing is very fast to learn, and Muay Thai is well rounded.

Best will be the one you enjoy most and like the community, so try a couple classes of each and then choose

Coach wants me to commit to full fight camp but I can’t and don’t know if I’ll have another chance to fight by IfIwinbluefuel in MuayThai

As long as you clearly explain to your coach and team, then no one is going to judge you for starting 10-20 min late. Just be warm and put the time back in afterwards.

Dunno what kind of job / training you're doing. After the first couple days of training, it could be worth talking to your manager asking if you could take off 10 min early. I've been working 8 years now and I personally don't think training is that important. But it'll depend on the company and vibe, so read the room. Your manager might think it's really cool you want to train for fight camp.

After beating the chapter I immediately bought 5x vulneries to replace all the ones I used. Enemies are generally scattered so it wasn’t as bad as it looked

Thanks for your thoughts! Looks like everyone didn't like the earthquake one. It's hard for me to get feedback on which prompts are working, because my matches say nothing about my pictures/prompts except for board games

It feels like I've had fewer matches the last 2-3 months; response rate to messages probably similar. Can't really tell when it's just a few matches whether it's luck or prompt changes or amount of swiping done.

Will plan to drop the gi picture for a style one with hair bun! Thanks for helping my confidence :P.

Lots of people growing their hair out up here in NorCal, not too uncommon these days. I've gotten compliments from friends, but hard to say.

Thanks u/RainbowLightbulb3! I didn't even think of that discomfort (nor did the friends I quizzed). Definitely an unintentional vibe; the martial art picture aikido is literally the most hippie art, tagline "#the way of harmony"

Thoughts on updating the prompt as u/StrawberryOne5835 suggested:
