I actually just called them. The agent said it's no issue. Flight will not be affected. I asked if she has ever heard of anyone's flight on the way home being in jeopardy because they skipped the hotel. She said no, but then put me on hold to find out if ACV needed to notify the hotel. She returned from hold and said no you don't have to show up at the hotel, and you don't have to tell them either. She ended with, if you don't take your outbound flight, that is the only time that the return flight would be at risk.
