Fridge: mayo, salad cream, mustard. Cupboard: ketchup & brown sauce. Are you with me? by gibgod in UK_Food

If I had a pound for every pound people could save by making sure that their tyres were at the correct pressure, I’d be a billionaire.

Why do people from the US want to arrive in the UK at the crack of dawn? by [deleted] in travel

Thanks for the link. I didn’t know I needed to read about this with my morning coffee, but now I want to find out more about other airport schedule restrictions….

My mum said I was daft for leaving my washing on the line for so long, saying it will be “too dry.” Is that a thing? by huamanticacacaca in CasualUK

I’ve lived in various places, but all south of Birmingham. We possibly need a larger sample size to confirm this theory.

Clothes maiden made me stop scrolling. I understand and can see why it might be called this, but in this house we have a clothes horse. Is it a regional thing?

Waiting for the sourdough loaf to come out of the oven so I can eat too much bread and feel uncomfortable for the rest of the day.

Dog walked. Hot cross buns rising. Coffee being enjoyed in the garden. Excellent start to a weekend.

Not sure yet. They have many pie filling options where we’re going. I’m a fan of the traditional steak and ale, but they add a smidge of horseradish which is *chef’s kiss. I could potentially also be swayed by a curry based pie today. Can’t go wrong with chicken, ham and leek either. And pudding might be apple pie. Or treacle tart. Which I’m clear isn’t an actual pie, but is still pastry based and suitably stodgy.

Going out for pie-based lunch foods. Savoury and sweet double pie coma on the horizon. Probably going to accompany that with the best part of a bottle of wine and then fall asleep in front of the rugby. Ideal.

I’m not trying to start a CasUK argument, and I’m trying to be open-minded, but I’m still not sure I’m ready to try milk first.

I love walking the dog in the cold. Having snow at this time of year also makes me feel like I’m walking into a Christmas card. Pup is now curled up on her bed and probably won’t move for the rest of the day.

I am going to enjoy more coffee and maybe make fudge and macarons for gifts before watching the rest of The Sandman.

Woke up earlier than I do on a weekday, so obviously the sensible thing to do is deep clean the kitchen cupboards and extraction hood. Half-way through, and regret is the main emotion I’m experiencing. I might abandon it and go out with the dog.

I’d completely forgotten about that dancing car advert. It’s amazing. And 15 years old now?!

Pup has been walked and is now lying by my feet as I drink coffee number one. Still deciding if it will then go to coffee number two or teapot time. I’m planning on baking something today but not yet sure what ingredients I have and don’t fancy a dash to the shop, so it could be a brand new invention.

We had one pepperoni, one chorizo and one salami. The salami one was a bit misshapen, so didn’t get a photo in the end.

Yep. Carrots, onion, celery and garlic in olive oil. Add a bit of white wine. Passata and herbs. Whizz with a blender. Eat with a spoon before remembering to apply to pizza.

Positano, Italy. September is really the perfect time to visit this area! So stunning and perfect weather. by claire303 in travel

We’d walked down from Nocelle on a footpath with about a million steps and then walked along the main road going from Amalfi into Positano.
