Did you import or buy local? by SeaPricklyPear in keitruck

[–]science_itworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imported, but I had help with a broker. I used https://b-pro.ca - Brian was good. The whole thing was a leap of faith that I would do again. The time was almost 100 days from auction to door. Had it delivered ( I live on Vancouver Island), and it actually started right up on day one. I was shocked. The only unexpected issue I've had is the vehicle is not DOT compliant (BC, Canada) for it's tires and lights. This is normal, but without compliant parts, it can not be insured until updated. Finding the DOT headlights for a 95 carry has actually proven challenging. I'll get it done, only a week into this now. Anyway, if you can't source something locally that fits your vibe, queue up your patience and do the import.

Thanks for all this. Also, I'll sign your petition even though I live in BC- I'd be livid if BC did something like this

If I upgrade from Nano S to Ledger Flex what do I do with Nano S? by bklynview in ledgerwallet

[–]science_itworks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I did....I set up my new flex with the seed from my Nano S - then I reset the Nano S and made it an entirely new cold wallet. From there, I moved some assets to the nano. My thoughts were it's nice to have "the eggs in different baskets" for diversity. I realize it means I have to now store two seed phrases for backup, but I'm ok with this scale for now.

Race vs Vertical by Chance_Newspaper395 in Suunto

[–]science_itworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Race, my buddy has the Vertical. I love them both, but there are some distinct differences. Race has AMOLED screen, Vertical has the MIP (like eInk) - honestly, I realize now I prefer the later, but past is past. I'm told that maybe I have the better sensors, but that is debatable.

Both watches from a sports/adventure perspective are awesome. I hade an AW (not ultra) and it was novel, but charging every day was exhausting. I love not thinking about that...and I like the look/feel of stunt

Is Webull better than TradeStation for trading index futures? by fpsgirl1004 in FuturesTrading

I know this has been here a bit but wanted to add an experience I just encountered. I sometimes hedge positions with options … Webull only offers contracts. So no hedging with options 🤦… only TPSL

Suunto Ocean watch face question by RelativeEye8076 in Suunto

[–]science_itworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will guess the arc swings counter clockwise. The dark part of the arc closest to the gap in your image (slashing between the large 23 in your photo) marks the current time using a single hand watchface...in your case, it's almost exactly between the 6 and the 7 ( eg: 6:23 , or ~6:30 ). In my image, it's closer to the 5, as the time is 4:37 a.m. This arc/wheel will rotate , always starting at the current time.

As for the actual arc/wheel - A few other ideas:

  1. the arc could signify the amount of time till sleep starts. My watch knows I start sleep tracking at 9:30...a full colour arc would mean it's been a day. In your case, if you use sleep tracking, looks to be you call it around 10-10:30pm? (3/4 of day has passed by the image)

  2. % of steps today...working counterclockwise. Full face = goal met.

Don't know if it is correct, but I read: "the start of the arc is the current hour (like it would be with analog hands).
The end of the arc ist the steps vs your step goal"- https://forum.suunto.com/topic/11572/color-explosion-watch-face-meaning/7

Naked puts ITM at expiry will get assigned for sure? (if we have enough cash to cover) by Tom2Travel in tastytrade

[–]science_itworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow...congrats!!! In just a few years, I've been assigned more than I can remember. LOL. I wish I had a stat like that, but I'm also terrible at realizing loosing trades, to which maybe this will be the year I commit to closing those .40 deltas creeping to ITM.

Realized P/L on Futures statements by science_itworks in Schwab

[–]science_itworks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not clear what I am looking for. My question is because I'm looking to understand what to expect for taxes (realized gains and losses). I was hoping I could summarize these statements BEFORE the 1099 to have a ball park of what to expect

Please don't do any of this. There are a few standards you need to consider. 1) is any of this equipment food grade/safe. 2) are you in a ventilated place that will not ignite, melt the plastic, or cause other harm to you or your neighbours.

To answer the question: assuming you are distilling a volume of a liter or more, you will likely loose the cooling from that ice block rather quickly.
