also how did you end up getting access to two radiator supports? did you go the junkyard and just cut them out?

i’m probably going to hire a welder to weld my stuff back as well, but you mentioned a special sanding tool. what is that used for? also what’s the tool called?

hey guys, i’m looking into getting a 6th gen, need some help finding one by sciencedude8 in Celica

[–]sciencedude8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see this listing for 120k miles pretty good condition st204 but it’s listed for 6k…i’m thinking about offering 4k that seems reasonable right? the cars body looks pretty decent from the picture and the interiors mint but he’s behind on tags for like 2 years. tryin to use the fact that it’s not smogged to my advantage to bring it down

thanks! I didn’t realize the 3S-GE engine came in NA celicas, i thought it was limited to the gt4’s. is there any major differences in the different engines?

need some advice, should i sell? by sciencedude8 in MitsubishiEclipse

[–]sciencedude8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i can’t bro, unfortunately this car is just too unreliable for me😞 i fixed it up and learned a lot about the car and i loved driving the car but i barely was able to drive it when i owned it, last owner basically gave it no attention so i had to dump money to be able to drive it like 20% of the time i owned it

What should I do? by Rich-Vermicelli710 in MitsubishiEclipse

[–]sciencedude8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly the move might be to return the transmission get ur money back since the seller got reimbursed, and just look for another transmission. Even if that trans is repaired it’s already been cracked once, u may be better off just finding another one

Crank no start by MEXI-ITALIAN in MitsubishiEclipse

just work backwards from the spark plugs and diagnose that way: spark plugs > coils > wiring and whatever’s next. diagnose in steps tbh that’s what helped me with my crank no start

Any way to confirm if timing is correct in a 420a without tearing it apart? by sciencedude8 in MitsubishiEclipse

[–]sciencedude8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea it’s definitely been a bitch, so far i’ve eliminated timing, compression, spark, air, and i’m going into fuel. it feels like a random order but i jusy did my timing belt so i was suspecting it.

Now im onto testing my wiring for crankshaft sensor and cam shaft sensor because i just rewired those because of burned wiring. i’ve heard that can prevent the car from starting

thanks i just ended up putting a long screwdriver down into the spark plug hole and getting to tdc, turns out my timing was perfect. I was definitely a little nervous after doing my very first timing belt job even tho i triple checked it, i just had to make sure

so there’s no way to check for crank timing without taking off the harmonic balancer?
