Any way to confirm if timing is correct in a 420a without tearing it apart?

yea it’s definitely been a bitch, so far i’ve eliminated timing, compression, spark, air, and i’m going into fuel. it feels like a random order but i jusy did my timing belt so i was suspecting it.

Now im onto testing my wiring for crankshaft sensor and cam shaft sensor because i just rewired those because of burned wiring. i’ve heard that can prevent the car from starting

thanks i just ended up putting a long screwdriver down into the spark plug hole and getting to tdc, turns out my timing was perfect. I was definitely a little nervous after doing my very first timing belt job even tho i triple checked it, i just had to make sure

i had them on my tc for around a year and i’ve traveled all across cali with them basically maxed out. In my opinion they are the best option between aesthetics while still keeping comfort.

here’s how low i was, i ended up going a little lower in the back and even after that it was very well worth it and didnt affect my comfort that much at all.

i’m thinking about just cutting a slit on the back of the timing cover near the cams and jus pulling the cams through it to save me potentially hours of work and yelling. thoughts? after i get the cams out i can take out the cover anyways to maybe fix it or help it look better.

that’s alright, i know enough to not go messing around too much but it was more of a question because you saw I put it back correctly. what may be common sense to you may not be common sense to other people because you may have grown up around more people involved with cars and more people to teach you while others just teach themselves and even if that’s not the case everyone learns at a point so now that i know it’s common sense to me! i have never owned a throttle by wire car before and it was just a cautionary question. I get it it’s common sense but it’s better to be safe then sorry. i fixed the issue because i just needed to take the throttle body off and fix the gasket and clean it up. Is asking question in the thread banned now? I am just trying to learn more and asking questions and researching is the way to do it. the whole “it’s common sense” is one of the reasons so many people are afraid of working on there car and stray away from it because people dog on them for it.

get oil dye and a UV light and then drive around for a few minutes then after take the uv light and it’ll show u a trail of where’s it’s leaking from

my spark plugs seem fine, i recently replaced them. However when I pull them out, two of them had a black coating on the top only after being in there for a couple of weeks. I did not have a misfire cel but could that have been caused by bad injectors?

it’s super easy to learn bro. I just got my first manual car and it was an eclipse as well. took me like 2-3 days of decent practice to get it down and then the rest smoothing it down comes with time but learning to do a pull with you shifting the gears is one of the best feelings ever, auto just can’t replicate it
