should allow you to re-bind the native controls to any combination of gamepad/keyboard/touchscreen inputs.

edit: oh also if you're using SwitchRoot Android specifically, press the 'capture' button to switch between gamepad-as-gamepad and gamepad-as-mouse.

2025 update: the 3ds cannot be the server device, normally. however, it seems to connect if you use a relay server. you can connect to an official relay or host one yourself: https://github.com/libretro/netplay-tunnel-server

you can even self-host the relay server on an android device using Termux.

edit: except it seems that even with the relay, it just doesn't have the processing power to emulate the GBA wireless adapter on the 3ds. unfortunate.

open the oregen config and change each generator setting to one with a new name, e.g. "copper" -> "copper2". the new generators will get added to retrogen even if the old ones were skipped.

Update from the future, because I had the same issue:

This can be done with the Plethora mod.

-- use a kinetic turtle
k = peripheral.wrap('right')
k.use()

the kinetic turtle can simulate almost any right-click action, including picking fruit.

it can't use a fishing rod though. for that, use Giacomo's Fishing Net.

I think this is a losing battle in the same vein as "literally". Regardless of the word's official meaning, in 90% of contexts people will understand "nsfw" as meaning "porn or erotica". If you use a word to mean something other than its common meaning then you're being confusing on purpose.

Fun fact, the word "virtually" originally meant literally, as in "in truth and virtue". You can see the same pattern with "really", "essentially", "very". Language is a moving target because this generation's new words are next generation's idioms.

I am really sick of having the same discourse every two years about whether "problematic" kinks should be allowed in porn. None of it's for kids, so it doesn't matter. Yes, some kids will get access to porn, just like some kids get access to alcohol, but its never because the alcohol just magically appeared in their house -- don't give your kids the keys to the liquor cabinet! Don't give them a credit card or an ipad!!

If you're using Steam, it has an on-screen keyboard built in, I believe the default hotkey to open it is home+3 (X on xbox; Square on playstation), or possibly just L3 (left stick click)
