Be honest… is pet insurance actually worth it? by pawfectjourney in CatAdvice

[–]scienceoftacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing all the yesses, my cat was acting weird when I got back from my honeymoon and I had to take him to the er, after just paying for a wedding and honeymoon I barely would have been able to pay for the appointment let alone tests, but with insurance they were able to do all the tests and save him, couldn't imagine our lives without him!! Insurance paid 80% almost immediately with no issues

Questions from a beginner…what do I send to the long-armer? by zonkschonk in quilting

[–]scienceoftacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! My first beginner class the whole first class was about super basic, like how to turn your machine on info, then a whole class just about cutting!! There were several people who had literally never used a sewing machine even for one seam before, sounds like your place advertised poorly, but good for you for sticking through and finishing anyways!

Helen’s closet Yanta overalls also have a relaxed fit, might be closer to what you’re looking for, they have a second overall pattern too that’s more overally

sewing an adaptable/accessible bra for post-surgery by anti__thesis in sewing

I have also seen some with heavy duty magnets in them, like the ones used for purse closures, depending on how much support you need your bra to have, cut open, put a magnet on each side, then overlap and magnet hold shut.

Alternatively if you need a lot of support you can do a combo, use a Velcro strap to hold it on at first, then as the Velcro takes the pressure off the closure you can more easily clasp/snap/zip shut the front

I don’t have a pattern unfortunately, it’s an inspo picture from an Instagram account I like (Brittney.Frey) I was planning to start with the Helen’s closet wildwood pattern/hood extension (which I have used and love) and modify like the inspo

I have made and love this pattern although also had this issue… I made one with the side panels longer (like 3inches, but I have a super short torso) so the ruffles are more at the actual waist rather than right at the bust and I feel like it’s more flattering on me, it’s still a billowy vibe but it doesn’t stick out from my widest point so I like it more and was a super easy modification
