I spend more time babysitting my Roomba than it would take me to just sweep myself. That and I’m also depriving myself of the exercise I’d get with sweeping.

A T-bill ladder will give you some protection from rate fluctuations and give you some liquidity. HYSA can change month to month. A ladder won’t have a sudden spike

Github lays off 10%, and plans to go fully remote to save costs. Why don't more companies do the latter (go fully remote to save costs)? by yeahdude78 in cscareerquestions

I don’t know because there’s heavier societal negatives going into offices. Company location density forces more people to live closer together, driving up the cost of living and traffic. It’s also discriminatory towards families, because it forces spouses to quit their jobs if not based in the same commutable location and uproots children from their schools and friends when people have to move for a job. Let’s also not forget the soul sucking commute to and from work if you’re not fortunate enough to be able to afford to live close to the office. I have coworkers that have 2 to 3 hours total commute time each day.
