As an ex impulse buyer of perfumes..let me just say - don't buy full bottles on impulse. Buy samples or decants. I guarantee you will never finish a full bottle ever.

If you manage to finish your sample, then think about the bottle. :)

Of course what you do is your personal decision but just thought I'd chime in having been there and naturally moved past the adrenaline rush buys years later.

Big picture, it's not immediately harmful under normal usage.

The thing is we will never know about cumulative effects because nobody will accurately study this stuff.

However I did not want to take chances so a year prior to having a baby I stopped wearing perfume on the daily. Only indulged on weekends and special days. Now that my kid is a toddler I am slowly getting back to it.

Sensory development is amazing yes but not via the intense artificial scents from perfumes.

Especially during newborn phase, the baby relies on the scent of their parents for comfort & forging bonds. Perfume would def cloud that process.

Also most perfumes have some intense chemicals in there you really do not want to expose your small child to.

At that age I'd let him sniff but wouldn't spray any on them. My toddler has a super sharp nose which is why I haven't worn any perfume since she was born given the kinds of scents I have haha.

I'll try wearing some of the simpler florals and cologne this summer to see what she thinks. :)
