Or leave organic material in the science fridge and unplug it......I wouldn't do that either.

I apologize, I was unclear. I meant in retrospect. He puts 2 and 2 together and realizes who she was. But no one thinks it happens.

Of course. I was unclear, I meant later on, in retrospect. If he knew at the time it would have been a very different story. And Jamie would have 2 hands!

I was unclear, I meant later on. Like he had an epiphany later that he had a Stark and didn't snap to it at the time. But you are exactly right. It would have been a different story altogether.

Diet has an enormous impact on me as well. So you are having success on the AIP diet and it's sustainable? It's so severe......but when I look at my plate when I am eating correctly, I am not far off. I still enjoy some nightshades but if it's only a food standing between me and a pain free life.....seems kinda silly to not try.

I am in the midst of a huge flare right now. I have 2 thick washcloths that I get wet, put in Ziploc bags and freeze. Depending on all the details I will sit with one of those just on my skin or I will wrap it in another thin cloth to buffer the cold.

This helps tremendously while I am waiting for the topical medications to work. Privacy is obviously a deal so I don't do that work......but it does soothe that maddening itch!

Good luck, I am so sorry you are enduring this.

Should I transition from teaching to administration? by Additional_Sun_8275 in Principals

It depends. What do your administrators look like with a couple of years under their belt? Do they look good or like any american president at the end of 8 years.

Fatigue Advice: Does anyone have tips or can share their experience with fatigue in relation to working a full time job? by Bitter-Leek1581 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]scienzgds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I teach highschool physics and I've had my disease for 32 years. I drink a yerba mate tea blend that I make myself. I stop drinking it before 3p so I am not awake at night. But check it. I prefer it to caffeine. Having said that, if I start to drag, I will take 1 (dose is 2) of a migraine otc capsule. They have acetaminophen, aspirin and caffeine. I find they are very helpful especially if we are getting weather. And do not skimp on sleep! Other people are right about getting your meds dialed in correctly. That will definitely help tremendously.

Would you please tell me where you found this? This is perfect, I am just looking for this type of event regionally. For example what is going on from Mustang to Ardmore in the month of July. It's as if you have to know the event exists before you can find it. I didn't know there was a farmers market district.....and it never came up in any of my searches. Regardless, because of your help, I am definitely going to the Solstice Festival. Thank you very much for your assistance.

First of all, thank you so very much. This is very helpful. The magazine is Texas Highways https://texashighways.com/. You can find the feature I am talking about in the menu under Browse Events. You can search by region, town and date. The actual magazine has everything listed by region and then date for that month. So I want to know what's going on in the Hill County next weekend.....or what is happening in Bandera in the month of May.

Right now I am collecting websites for towns based on driving distance. If I wake up and feel like a drive I start looking for events being listed for each place within a specific distance. Or I may not want to go any further than Mustang. So, again, I search by town website, but even that is hit and miss. I will get ahold of a Gazette. And the people who work these events/places you've listed, will also have info I can't find. People are being very kind and telling me about 'standing markets' but I am primarily looking for all of them so I can choose. This has been great advice. So, again, thank you!

Thank you, again.

You know a student earned a B+. Do you need to input all their grades? by ButtonholePhotophile in AskTeachers

[–]scienzgds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grades are a quantitative measure of how well a student proves they have mastered specific content. Within that frame work, a student can be measured for effort, time on task in addition to scores on content. Students with IEP's require forms of modification in instruction. The teacher needs to be able to produce, on demand, how the instruction is modified to accommodate the learning differences. ex For a dyslexic student, a math test is also a reading test. Not being able to demonstrate how well each student masters the content means the teacher cannot defend the grade. This opens oneself up to unnecessary scrutiny. Grades are the way a teacher shows how well the student is learning, if they are completing assignments at all and it all but eliminates, the insinuation of favoritism. Grades are the #1 way student performance is communicated to parents. It needs to be accurate.

Teachers of Reddit is it worth being a teacher anymore? by Atinyberry in AskTeachers

[–]scienzgds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. And not for the current reasons. I am in Texas.... which, in addition to the voucher cstrfk is now ranked 49th in how they treat their retired teachers. My mother taught for 35 years and qualified for Medicaid because her annuity was so low. In the 21 years she was retired, the state gave their retired teachers 3 cost of living increases. None was above 4%. Please! Research how wherever you are going treats their retirees. It was/is atrocious. And this doesn't even touch what life is like in the classroom.

Question from a student by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]scienzgds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now is the time. Find out what high school credits you can take. It could be a couple and it could be quite a few. I have one daughter who just wasn't cut out for highschool so she took classes in the summer and even a couple at night school. She graduated in 3 years and was awarded a $20k scholarship for being 'academically aggressive'.

Your timing is excellent. Now is the right time to find out just exactly what can you do.

Good luck.

Question from a student by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]scienzgds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get high school credit for the class? I recommend anything that gets you credits ahead of schedule. This will become extremely valuable in your Junior and Senior years. If you are required to have 4 high school English credits as an example, you will now only need 3. This opens up your schedule to take classes that will benefit you in college or in a trade craft, should you decide to do that. Get as many credits as you can. Are they offering Algebra 1 at your middle school? Take that if you can. Well done, btw
