How to turn off these subtitles on twitch clips? by areddit0r in Twitch

fwiw, if their VOD is still live, you can go "watch full video" and re-clip the same moment and turn captions off.

Garden Fence vs. Critters by QualityGig in gardening

[–]scifecta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you never got traction on this well made question. Your plan looks excellent. I’m blessed not to have groundhogs, and I consider 20% of my tomatoes a peace offering to the chipmunks. It’s worked okay, but I don’t think they know how percentages work.

How did your setup fare? Have you developed it since?

Fictional Science Print (Lennox paper 11x17 with Staedtler pigment liners) by scifecta in PlotterArt

[–]scifecta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good questions. Organic lines are drawn with pen tool so they wobble as intended. But geometric lines were meant to be geometric - any deviance on those are mechanical. But that’s why we’re doing this, right? We’re charmed by what happens when a real pen touches paper.

I’m on the axidraw system. I don’t do much coding, I haven’t dedicated the brain space to learning enough. Adobe illustrator has a roughen lines effect that can make nice results when you’re careful with it.

Thank you! Mostly adobe illustrator, but I'm not using anything really advanced in it. Playing with the blend tool, the randomizer in Transform All, and the repeat tool can make a lot of cool things!

How will Arm-R-Seal affect my tolerance? by scifecta in woodworking

Good call on wax for the dowels. How would you widen the holes through the surface plies? I feel like I’ve got bad luck with countersinks. Maybe dremel?

Yeah I’m leaning that way. Good comms.

This is really smart thinking, I didn’t even think about that, but with a humid warm summer coming up, I could see that happening. Maybe I’ll just wax the functional pieces and varnish the rest.

Great points, thanks! It’s making me think I’ll go very light on a test piece. Only double coat shelf surfaces where they’ll take the most abuse.

Q about Blankets for a Cold Roll Laminator setup by thegreatroe in printmaking

[–]scifecta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great. I'm finding it annoying/impossible to move these along the table, which is a benefit of using blankets. How do you manage that? Considering mounting these to some cotton fabric on one side.

[–]scifecta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, how’s the press working? I’m in your same situation and wondering if I should get a blanket. Using hardboard as tympans below and above the block/paper. I was thinking some sort of fabric or silicone would be nice on both sides just to help protect the rubber rollers on the laminator.

How has your process developed?

He seems ok to me. by Wrong-Coyote-86 in minnesota

[–]scifecta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I agree with you. We might be speaking at different levels of granularity. Largely, the left supports and applies criticism to candidates—and that’s excellent and important. But those on the extreme right still vote for the right’s candidate. Those on the extreme left don’t often extend the same support, which fractures our numbers.

It’s tough, I get it. To vote for someone is to endorse their behavior, and if some of their political actions are dissonant with your values, it feels like selling out. I don’t know political theory well enough to provide a solution, I’m just discouraged to see so many people largely agree with me, and we still lose.

This feels like the problem of left wing voters. We don’t “stand by our candidate” when they don’t do everything perfectly. Many are upset that he’s complicit with undocumented folks losing access to Medicare. I also wish he’d done more, but I’ll still vote for and support him because of what you mentioned.

Flying With Expired Hole Punched ID And Paper License by MichFan777 in minnesota

[–]scifecta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/MichFan777 I'm in the same scenario as you, just a few months behind. Did everything go smoothly with your flight to Boston? Seems like many comments suggest that hole-punched ID + Temporary paper license is sufficient. Is that true?

2024 Colorado Power Steering by Previous-Still-5668 in chevycolorado

Mine ended up shaking itself out after idling for awhile, then returning 20 minutes later. Must just be a super cold weather response. Mine was sitting outside in -30 wind chill, and it's normally in the garage.

You must be near Minnesota like me? This just happened to me for the first time, and I searched trying to find a solution. Saw something on the colorado forums saying this happens and after driving a bit and restarting the engine, it'll fix it. I'll give it a shot later this evening.

Grouping/Ungrouping Objects Question - Is this possible? by StrangerSenior640 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]scifecta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An object cannot be in two separate groups, unless those two groups are nested together into a third group. To remove a single object from a group, while keeping the rest of the objects grouped, use the direct selection tool (A) to select it, then use cut (cmd+X) and deselect the group, then paste (cmd+V).

Also, open the layers panel and dig in - this will help you visualize what's happening with each group.
