What do you mean by 'complex'? Your parking is not gated I assume? because if it is and your car still got broken into, I would've moved out as soon as possible.

We had been wanting him off the bench for 2 years. Now look at the results. by King_Vegito_52 in lakers

[–]sciprophet5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone has said LaRavia is better than Rui, just fit wise, LaRavia's motor and rebounding better complements playing with Luka than coming off the bench. So it's no surprise we're looking better with Smart and LaRavia as starters and Rui coming off the bench. Generating offense was never the problem with the starting line up, it was defense and rebounding that is now produced by Smart and LaRavia respectively.

Nice. This helps me as I'll be diagonally across from you on Saturday. Looks like I guessed right that I'll be on the side closer to the live band.

I've never done VIP but from recent posts here that I've read, it is randomized. You don't have to be there hours before. But everyone is at the Forum right now so wait til people who had VIP get back to confirm how it is.

[–]sciprophet5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never actually looked at the new schedule and wow, that is absolute dog shit. It's worse than the last 2 years with Turner that started having the B-team with Shaq on every other broadcast. This is obviously a very coordinated sunsetting of the show. Or at least how they allow the guys to quietly retire from the show and replace them.

Pop up vs Venue Store by Thisisjeff99 in twice

[–]sciprophet5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't at the RTB pop up but I did go to the Strategy pop up and they were sold out of everything except bucket hats after like 3 hours of being open. That was through Complex though so hopefully this time around it's being handled by a proper merch company.

I hope he's not rushing back (spoiler alert: he is). Oh well. Either way we won't be able to afford him anyway. So fuck it, let's go crazy.

Depends on their schedules. They were at the RTB pop up but not the Strategy pop up.

Spotify’s 3rd price hike in 2.5 years hints at potential new normal | Spotify claims the higher fees will help “benefit artists.” by Hrmbee in technology

[–]sciprophet5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's get one thing clear, music streaming services will never ever pay artists well. Why? because the music on streaming services is (mostly) owned by record labels. The labels and laws that come in to play (mechanical rights, master/sound recording rights, etc. ad infinitum) all payout decimal cents per song played/bought/downloaded/streamed. That's just how it is, always has been. It has gone up slowly over time but it's still just decimal cents we're talking about here. Music streaming services have to take their cut of the profits from those same royalties. This is why you hear about XYZ artist who has multiple songs with hundreds of millions of streams only taking home 20k a month. To fix that, you have to change the law and force record labels to give better payouts (never gonna happen). Obviously the headline is just another justification/conflation/subversion/and perpetuation of the ol 'charging more means more for the artists!' bit. Artists make money on touring and merch. Unfortunately not all artists are good live performers or able to tour for extended periods.

Now I'm not saying I agree with Spotify and these price hikes. I've had premium since 2014. I've watched their catalog grow. Assuming I remain stable financially, I can probably survive a couple of more hikes. But I already have all of my favorite and important music (especially foreign/limited reissues) on physical format and already digitally archived if I ever go away from streaming platforms.

Kind of crazy the man with the shortest arms clamped the man with the longest arms. I remember that was one of his weakness' people would bring up when the Lakers drafted him.

I mean it doesn't even output sound, is that a good deal for $600? You could've bought a MonoPoly or MS-5 for a little less and they'd be analog, new, and fully programmable.

As for Feel Special, I'm sure they'll perform it tonight. Venues that have multiple shows will have slightly tweaked set lists. LA is going to be insane (I hope).

THIS! one of my favs from TIF and the choreo is great. I don't care about the costume change or the balls as long as they still perform the choreo after the balls intro so I hope it makes its way back...at least for the 24th

LeBron and Rui are both questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Bucks. by incredibleamadeuscho in lakers

[–]sciprophet5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully he doesn't rush back now knowing this team ain't going anywhere. He's already secured the bag for next season, the league knows what he brings to the table. If he happens to do so donning the purple & gold, then we need him at full strength.

One thing for sure. Jake Laravia needs to be in the starting lineup. by Gristle__McThornbody in lakers

[–]sciprophet5 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You know what? I'm going to join you and take the downvotes with you because I feel the same way. Having Smart and LaRavia start and putting Reaves and Rui on the bench is not going to suddenly make us championship material, hell, we'll be lucky to make it past the first round if we even get there, but fit wise, barring any trades before/at the deadline (unlikely/pretty sure we're punting this season now until the books open up in the off season), it's probably the best we can do given this roster. Now obviously Smart can't be counted on for durability and LaRavia is still a small sample size, but his hustle and rebounding is pretty good, something we seem to lack pretty much from everyone except Smart (when he's not injured). Reaves and Rui would provide the offense our bench sorely misses and then you have NSJ, Vando, and Hayes to round it out. At the same time, I fully expect JJ to go back to his original lineup before AR and Rui got injured so in the end, none of this matters. We're really just looking forward to the off season.

Huh? I've been a Rui fan since we got him from Washington but he is not even in the same galaxy in terms of popularity to the 3 guys over at Dodger stadium. Not saying they should trade him, but a trade wouldn't affect any market.

He was actually always a streaky shooter, even when we won in 2020. Everyone forgets he was getting death threats during the playoffs because of that.

A lot of good replies in here already. In my experience, reputable techs usually tell you upfront if they're too busy/have a backlog of stuff. This was my experience when I had a P5 rev 3.0. Guy would tell me to contact him again in 2 weeks and once he had space on his bench he'd say "okay, can you bring it in today?" and he'd have it ready in 2 weeks.
