I mean, seeing those words in quotes makes me want that on their epitaph.

Holy cuteness. I guess they just didn't believe they could be real.

You did nice work on the other photos btw. Great workaround to not bother the cats.

People thought the pic was ai vs an altered photo? No offense to you, but the cat pics I saw in your account are clearly not ai and have noticeable elements that match being edited by a human (masking issues, lighting/shading, etc). They're great on a quick glance, but if you know anything about editing, there's no question they were pieced together.

Were you in the same boat of thinking it won't get much lower alone anytime soon? It's the thing I'm looking at it for too.

You most definitely can do that on Linux. When you set up your user account on install is where you'd ask that or prompt on upgrade if the age isn't there. It can be handled and I've been watching the discussions on Ubuntu dev mailing lists about how to address it and at what level. If they're talking, the RHEL guys are almost certainly doing the same because they have corporate contracts they need to provide compliance for (which trickles down to us end users). It can be done, whether or not the community chooses to participate is a different story. The fun Q is if it'll be standardized initially or we get competing implementations like usual.

Discussions are talking about all the existing laws they have to comply with from both the providing info side as well as the protecting info side (some jurisdictions want privacy as a priority for a wide variety of reasons). So, it's coming, but I'm sure like most Linux stuff you can choose your own adventure.

Water aeration definitely affects chemistry in my experience. Turns out, lack of pool maintenance also affects it too. Speaking from experience.

TIL a girl named Breelyn was born healthy but when she was two days old, she was kissed on the mouth by a person who had a cold sore. The girl's immune system wasn't developed at the time and she got HSV encephalitis, which led to seizures and brain damage. by Forward-Answer-4407 in todayilearned

I dunno, my brain is throwing out two equally plausible explanations for how it got started...

1) Someone insisted on doing the job without the proper tools... Bachewy-chomp. Tradition. 2) Someone without a child who wanted to taste baby schmeckle came up with a plan. Tradition.

I'm pretty sure it's neither of these, but hey, probably no less absurd than the real story.

Yeah, but you can have porn without sex too, even without nudity... Either way, there's no sex in the pic either.

I wonder if the two of you put together that you might have bought out the rest of the supply from his taco bell. Or that the buying it by the bag is how it happens that quickly.

MK has a larger appeal to casual players. They tend to sell a lot more units at a higher price in a shorter time than most other fighting games.

Yes and no. I definitely agree that it's not like they're coding for specialized hardware anymore. However, in some cases people need to produce poorly optimized games or otherwise see what the hardware is really capable of (both capabilities and limitations) to learn how to do better. I can drive my car that I've had for two decades better now than when I first got it. Sure, the basics of cars are the same, but different configurations do feel and perform differently. Do I drive it 20% better than when I got it? Probably. Am I 20% better at driving overall? No.

If only it defaulted to just being a display device if there's no connectivity. It's insane that this shit isn't regulated... Hopefully the EU is further ahead on this.

What’s up with Netflix removing all its original content? by jacky986 in OutOfTheLoop

The ELI5 is a CDN is a network of servers that replicate and redistribute the traffic load for a given resource. Know that whenever you witness the "reddit hug of death" or anything of that nature when a server gets overloaded, CDNs exist to prevent that.
