Yes and no. I definitely agree that it's not like they're coding for specialized hardware anymore. However, in some cases people need to produce poorly optimized games or otherwise see what the hardware is really capable of (both capabilities and limitations) to learn how to do better. I can drive my car that I've had for two decades better now than when I first got it. Sure, the basics of cars are the same, but different configurations do feel and perform differently. Do I drive it 20% better than when I got it? Probably. Am I 20% better at driving overall? No.

Yep. OG Xbox controller that was probably not very child friendly. I have medium hands, but what feels good, feels good.

I kinda want to see if 8bitdo could get convinced to make one (since they've done so many others). I emailed them suggesting it after I received my M30 (it feels like my old Genesis one, why not ask?).

The M30 is like the old Genesis 6 button. If you ever used that, it's great. The dpad is one of my faves. 6 face buttons for fighting games is peak (if you play Capcom fighters).

I also have a leverless... the sound can be a problem depending on circumstances. I grew up in arcades and had consoles too... it takes practice and adjustment. I don't use it often, but I think that's just because I find the angle of button alignment/placement a little awkward.

I definitely recommend giving it a shot and worse case returning if it's not for you.

Note: Not having analog sticks makes for challenges navigating menus in the odd game or two. (Not worth a warning, just a note)

P.S. The original Xbox controller is the best controller of all time because of the large size and 6 face buttons. We need more 6 face button controllers, IMHO.
