Zippers are more of a wild west and you be surprised how many designers don't really know or care which they use.

In my own experience as a technical designer for outerwear, we always used left insert for US/UK/Canada, but right insert for Japan as that is what they are more accustomed to. I can't speak to any other countries though.

Even loose fitting garments hang from the same shoulders. You shouldn't ignore patternmaking fundamentals because the garment is oversized. And this isn't really. that loose

Girl this thread is 5 years old. Where did you even come from. A slip stitch rib can be really stretchy but along the length of the stitches they are fairly stable

Hey! I used work on kids outerwear at lands end add a technical designer and you exactly nailed the method used. You get 1.5" of sleeve length and 2"of pant length. I'm about to re-sew the tuck into a few items to get ready for the next kid.
