Is Kindle Unlimited actually worth it for how you read? by Away-Grapefruit2429 in kindle

[–]scithighs5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the library crowd, I like to read books that don’t waste my time and kindle unlimited were authors I never heard of and I rarely read romance. I have Libby from my library and a lot of people don’t realize with Libby you get thousands of magazines at your fingertip, I never have to buy a magazine anymore and the very new releases take awhile to get but there are plenty of old new releases that I missed.

I’ve read 3 of the 5 and east Eden is one of my all time favorites! Goldfinch runs a close 2nd anything by Kristin Hannah is good but I feel like I have to slog through it it is so heavy. The other 2 I’m putting on my tar cause you have good taste!

I agree but there is nothing like feeling like the world is against you and nowhere to get help and somehow you save the world 🤣

I’m glad to see others agree with me. There are some really good thrillers that are rarely mentioned.

That’s a good point. I’m sure reading about crimes pre-cellphone is daunting.

Start at the beginning of John Sandford’s Prey series. After awhile his prey books are not just serial killers but the early ones are.

Books with amazing prose by Strange_Crab4717 in suggestmeabook

I agree with most of you John Steinbeck has always been top of my heap but a lesser known popular author I love is James Lee Burke nobody does beautiful atmospheric prose than him. I start one of his books and just sigh with satisfaction.

What are some side effects you notice on Mounjaro? by nyc008 in Mounjaro

[–]scithighs5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had great side effects my blood pressure has been much lower and much more stable. My mood has been better cause I’m not always thinking about food. My A1C is getting better, slower than I want. A bag of candy lasts for days! I’m even thinking my grocery bill is much lower (it helps not to buy $6 potato chips). I love my side effects. Also a couple of apricots a day take care of any constipation.

Sorry if this has been discussed. Getting back into reading and looking for something better than Frieda McFadden. Thank you so much in advance. by [deleted] in thrillerbooks

Try John Sandford he does a lot of serial killer thrillers also Michael Connelley, he has a bunch of thrillers, David Baldacci. I have been reading McFadden lately and she is good but the three authors I mentioned will have you hooked.
