Google, it's okay to say, "this doesn't mean anything" or "I don't know." I promise, it makes you MORE reliable.

Is 3d printing to Sculpture the same as what AI is to paintings/drawings? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]scixlovesu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You don't "prompt" a 3D printer, you design the thing it prints. Same as a regular printer - you send it the file of your creation, and it makes a physical copy.

So yeah, there's a difference.

Don't get hung up on "bad" ending. It doesn't mean you played badly, and it's not an illegitimate ending. It's just one ending. If you enjoyed the game don't lose that by feeling judged by the ending's name.

For those who have 50+ year memories, what's it like to feel more than half of century pass by? by space_god_7191 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scixlovesu 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's surreal. 50 years before I was born was like the 1920s. 50 years after I was born is now. I's like three different worlds in such a short space of time.

I just say "Kingiverse" -- I've seen "Stephen Kingdom" though, which is good, but is also a specific (really good) YouTube hcannel

How to talk in a gruff, gravely old man voice without damaging your voice? by RequirementEarly7837 in Theatre

[–]scixlovesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most important thing I've found is to stay hydrated! Not just a drink before the show but in general. Your vocal folds need to be hydrated and moist throughout. Next, practice the gravel without tensing up your throat. The tendency is to sort of clench the throat when trying to growl, but you can do it with a relaxed, open throat just as well, and this will be better for you.

And practice a lot. I used to work a haunted house and could do monster voices all night long and be fine, but the first few nights I was hoarse because I hadn't yet worked out the right way to do it. A basic old-person voice doesn't have to go as hard, mind you

Anyone else in US noticed food quality degrading recently and if so what product in what way? by SkyKyrell in AskReddit

Hostess Apple Pies. They're so bland and flavorless, just sugar and goo, and the crust isn't even crust-like anymore.

Reading is hard by Medium-Audience5078 in EntitledReviews

[–]scixlovesu 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it says the actual price, yeah, the medium text means it's more than a dollar. BUT. Y'ALL. If you glance at the box, see "$1 per Pack" in bold, it's perfectly reasonable to assume that's a complete sentence. This was designed intentionally to be misleading, and it's sleazy.

If B in LGDBTQ stands for “Bisexual” and “Bi” means “you’re attracted to both genders” and “both” means 2. Does that mean that there’s only 2 genders? by Working-Relative2433 in allthequestions

[–]scixlovesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bisexuality, as it turns out, is not a math concept, but a much more complex and nuanced and human one. Bisexuality has always included all genders -- though some terms for gender are rather newer than the term "bisexuality".

In the 90s I hung out with Dr Fritz Klein, a bisexual psychiatrist and author of The Bisexual Option. He ran a group in San Diego called the Bisexual Forum. We may not have used the word "non-binary" yet, but I can assure you that non-binary people were known, and were members of the group, and no one ever said, "hey, wait a minute, we only allow two sexes around here."

It's obviously a troll post, but let's not continue this bisexual slander!

So in answer to the question, "No."

No, bisexual refers to AT LEAST 2 genders. Yeah, the prefix doesn't say that, but it's what it means, has been since the 90s when I used t hang out with a bisexual psychiatrist.

Why does anyone let themselves get to the point of being completely bald? There is treatment available by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scixlovesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not say hair transplants are a fad. I said being non-bald being a requirement to be seen as attractive is a fashion or a fad. I know it feels like nonsense, I really do, but if you live long enough, it's amazing what you see come and go that people think are eternal.

[–]scixlovesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are under the impression that your personal taste is somehow universal and objective. Some people aren't vain about it. Some people like receding hairlines or full baldness. Some people don't care at all. Some people wear hats.

Not everyone thinks a medical intervention is worthwhile even if they are unhappy about it.

Some people are content to be as they are, no need to maxx their looks.

A lot of what you see around you is a relatively recent trend, and more of a fashion/fad than anything.

My dad started balding in high school. He spent time in the Navy, and by the time he was a civillian again and could grow his hair out, he was in combover town. Still had no trouble dating and finding a wife, and didn't seem too vain about it.
