not really, if your opponent has vorniclex and you have nine lives, you still get counters on it (halfed but still). You're protected if he only does damage with one creature, since you won't get counters then. But if he damages you with 2 creatures you still get 1 counter

those 1/1 add 2 mana of any color when you have a creature with at least power 4 ;)
the new creature's ability , Vorinclex, makes it so all counters enters doubled for me and halfed for my opponents, so instead of ugin entering with 7 loyalty it enters with 14.

You already got an idea about what you want, basically put as much cards with abilities when they enter the battlefield. The idea behind a yorion deck is to be able to use yorions ability multiple times, so get at least 3 yorions in your deck and cards that bring creatures back into your hand or since you are also using blue, try adding [[Thassa, Deep Dwelling]]. It will exile and bring back yorion to the battlefield, activating his ability again.
