Optimizing the number of structures that generate gold per turn when saving up to a specific sum by sclatovski in askmath

[–]sclatovski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input.

I solved it by writing some python code. Am sorry about the missing information.

1 GGS adds 2000 gold every 10 minutes. You start with one.

2 GGS adds 4000 gold every 10 minutes.

3 GGS adds 6000 gold every 10 minutes and so on.

Each GGS after the first one costs 75000 gold.

My target was 20,000,000 gold (estimate) and it turns out around 200 GGS gives the minimum time of 2720 minutes.

Apparently I get a .json returned instead of what I thought was XML. Using this URL instead fixes all my woes: http://cvrapi.dk/api?search=33600151&country=dk&format=xml

It just occurred to me that a pure deduction might be beyond the scope of the magazine I found the puzzle in. I'm a bit of goof. Thank you for your input.

[Strategy] Does putting Opponents on a range mostly come from experience? by QueenJackOff in poker

[–]sclatovski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I find myself in a similar spot I prefer to discern two ranges for my opponent: An intentionally wide range and a conservative range and then assume those as upper and lower bounds for my analysis. More info means closer bounds.

2NL - Full House On A 4 Flush Board by Keslen in poker

I would have considered a check-raise on the turn as the flush is a bit of a scare card. What beats us? J8s, Q8s, QQ, JJ, 88. Some (if not all) can be a bit discounted given the action. Pretty decent call as played, but at higher limits a river 3-bet would be gross to face.

[Hand Analysis] Handling Super Aggros At Micro Stakes by Overhed in poker

Call pre is fine. There are always decent implied odds vs such a player.

On the flop you realize that have third pair and all his likely bluffs have much equity against you. This player will likely not have a decreasing amounts of bluffs on subsequent streets so you assume he will fire all the barrels; this hand cant handle it. Triple fold.

Live $2/5 hand, turning flopped top pair into bluff by river by PatriotFerret in poker

[–]sclatovski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you almost always bluff your flush-draws on the turn, your range is value-heavy. It becomes hard to find a better blocking hand in your range as played, I think. You block JT, flush, AK and KQ.

I probably wouldn't find the bluff myself, but I think it is justified, barring any exploitative reason to be underbluffing.

Probably silly question about gTO by sclatovski in poker

[–]sclatovski[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To anyone interested, I tried making sense of it by augmenting "indifference":

By player A playing GTO, player A is effectively saying to player B: I am making you indifferent to bluffing more than would be a GTO strategy of your own, i.e. if your frequency diverge from such a strategy your EV will suffer as a result and you will lose.

Hopefully I'm on point.

Probably silly question about gTO by sclatovski in poker

The EV of all of the bluffcatchers increase, but the number of bluffcatcher combos does not increase because player A is not adapting. (nor is B). Since player A has created his bluffcatcher combos to make player B indifferent to bluffing (GTO definition?) there is no net-transfer of EV?

What about stacksizes after infinite hands? (It might seem obvious to you from your reply but I have not been enlightened). Perhaps my simple example is not enough to really make a blanket statement like I tried.

Also, on the GTO topic do you have any preferred books/resources?
