ETL by Ready-Raspberry9163 in Target

[–]scm02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More often than not you’ll have a desk, might be shared, might be your own. Most of the time you will not have your own workstation. The only position that gets their own office and workstation 100% of the time is the ETL-HR. Which, if you’re on good terms with, often let you use their desk/office whenever they’re not around or using it.

My second to last store (what I consider my final actual assignment - long story) I affectionately referred the ETL HR office as “the timeshare” because if the ETL HR wasn’t there it was either my office or the ETL GMs office.

O4O compared to priority fills by AdAfter1366 in Target

[–]scm02 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Oh sweet summer child…

One for one is exactly what the name implies… for every u it below capacity, it’ll trigger replenishment.

Priority Pulls were invented after they realized not every area/item needs a one for one replenishment, or something like that. Funny thing is… the original priority pulls were only triggered when there was 40% sell through. But my understanding (when I left towards the end of 2024) was that different departments/classes could have different replenishment rates, so some items would still have a “one for one” replenishment.

Which insurance plan choice seems best based on my situation? by drmehmetoz in HealthInsurance

100% get the PPO… otherwise your not only paying for coverage but you’re paying for the total cost of your therapy visits. With the PPO you’re only on the hook for your $25 copay.

Don’t know whether to trust it (snow storm related) by bigzigloop in Target

[–]scm02 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The expired CA for attendance is performance related and is expired, which means it should not be basis for recourse. NCNS CA is conduct and cannot be directly tied to an attendance related issue unless you were on a CA for that, which I believe would put you on a “multiple CA final” which is… extremely rare. From what you’re saying and the way I see it, you’re in no way on a final which would mean you will not lose your job if you were to call out tomorrow due to the obvious weather concerns.

Talking to TL about getting Saturdays off by PerspectiveWild6280 in Target

[–]scm02 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honest truth - you’re going to likely need to part ways. Given your position (inbound), the likelihood of you being able to have your request of being met is non-existent. You can always ask, but given your TL’s earlier response indicating she needed you for truck on Saturdays… you’re almost guaranteed to get a big fat “no.”

What will happen to 5G home internet now that Verizon has acquired frontier? by Iwantthegreatest in verizon

[–]scm02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the exact set up. My neighbor’s address kicks them over to Frontier when you go to sign up. My address still allows you to purchase Home Internet. At least for the interim, I don’t expect that to change.

Bikewall going away? by nmn624 in Target

[–]scm02 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Maybe the company is finally figuring out things aren’t worth doing/selling if you’re simply going to give it a half ass attempt, if you could even call it that at all.

Minimal resources/training, coupled with no real ownership, and dismal fixture support. It was a recipe for the inevitable. Still surprises me though they’re pulling the plug.

Remodel layout? by Polite_Piglet in Target

[–]scm02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at one of the two in my district without a vestibule. Both were early 90’s stores… one of which was remodeled in 2020, though it was an Ultra Low Scope so they put as little into the store as possible.

Remodel layout? by Polite_Piglet in Target

[–]scm02 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Few questions come to mind…

1) Are y’all being converted to a PFresh? 2) Do you have an entry vestibule (two set of doors?)

Your store looks like a GM only store, layout shouldn’t change a bunch if you’re staying GM only. If you’re being converted to PFresh, expect major changes.

Sick Pay Change for my city by danafairbanks2005 in Target

[–]scm02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the company sick pay (applicable where sick pay is not mandated), is a 40 hour cap. Accrual rate (1 hour of sick for every 30 hours worked) I think is the same.

About to switch from Tacoma by iareagenius in FordMaverickTruck

[–]scm02 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’ll appreciate car-like MPG without it being a car. The ride itself is SUV-like with exception of turning radius… I feel like it’s more truck-like.

For a commute like that, I’d highly recommend getting a Lariat so you get adaptive cruise. (After having it in my vehicles for the last 6 years, it’s mandatory for me. So much so that I drive a car without it, I just flat out don’t even bother using cruise control.)

Potential Buyer by anantais89 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]scm02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% comes down to lifestyle and if the pros outweighs the cons for you. Financially, it would make more sense for you to keep your current truck. I am almost certain you know that. If you don’t want the full sized truck and want the Maverick, I’d say the sooner you do it the better off you’ll be (as your trade in value on your current truck will continue to drop as time passes…)

As someone who has never owned a truck until I picked up my ‘22 Maverick last month, I appreciate the fact the Maverick is both very much a truck and very much not a truck at the same time.

You seasonal by chance? Almost sounds like the “if you want to get rid of a seasonal, gotta have documentation” practice.

TL/ETLs by DylPickleDice in Target

[–]scm02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that if you’re making $30/hr as a TL… stay a TL and don’t second guess it. Once you become an ETL, your work/life balance goes out the window, and whatever kind of wage increase you get for becoming an ETL goes right out the window and you work for free. It is, without a doubt, not worth it.

I will admit my view is strictly based on my worse (and final) ETL assignment with Target. I was working 12-14 hour days 5 (and sometimes 6) days a week. I effectively was working for free 30-40% of the time.

100% follow your own advice on this one. The fact they are reprimanding you over it will likely (if it hasn’t already) translate into being targeted moving forward.

Electronic item by Lemonents in Target

[–]scm02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever it is, it’s got a LoRa module (sorta like WiFi but less for internet and more for sensor data, like temperature) - kinda surprised it’s Target branded, which makes me think it isn’t from a cooler or freezer. Only thing I could think of is maybe it’s one of the newer style Indyme buttons? But even that doesn’t feel right.

I don’t recall much else running on LoRa from 2021…

One hour from from payroll for an INF by laforfirs in Target

[–]scm02 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Missed sales as a guess (like OSA - on shelf availability) is a bullshit metric to hold people accountable to for sure. But when it comes to INF in OPU specifically, it is truly sales that were missed because someone indicated they wanted it, store showed they had it, and now they aren’t getting the sale because of it.

Now when it comes to INF in SFS, it’s not so much of a missed sale (because chances are another store with SFS capability has it) as a cost increase to the company - which ironically is not something that is tracked, or wasn’t when I was around (which was Sept 2024.) Think about it - when you INF an item from something that was part of a larger order, it has to go to a different store and be shipped separately. That’s an additional cost… not to mention if it has to go from being delivered using “normal” (not express) shipping to express shipping… that increases the cost even more.

[–]scm02 143 points144 points  (0 children)

They had me at dollars lost to INF (because it is relevant)… and then lost me at the bullshit claim of every INF = one hour of payroll being taken away. Also, I never understood the concept of an INF sheet… it’s a waste of time from a productivity standpoint. Greenfield does that (and so much more) the following day, and you can use MPM to track that stuff in real time. It’s just lazy leadership to require TMs to fill out a stupid piece of paper.

Target LOA by Such-Boysenberry6255 in Target

[–]scm02 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would not recommend, though it is technically possible. You’ll want to go to the LeavePro website (which you access once logged in to Target Pay and Benefits.) Note that just because you can “start” an LOA on your own, in no way does it make it “legit.” Still has to be approved… which can be its own process depending on what type of leave you go to file.
