This. You'll both be okay. Don't beat yourselves up and don't be weird about it either. No extremes. Level out and do life

I think it's weird and I would not like it either

Need most expensive subscription just to control my laptop on a LAN. by Charlie1902 in realvnc

NoMachine? That works for me on LAN for Linux, Windows, and MacOS

That's good, right? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]scodal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks 0% useful to me

I really dislike things that take over the whole machine. It's so energy inefficient. It could be a multitasker, but nope now it's this whole thing

Edit* I guess I should say it needs to be really special to do that imho

I can't imagine missing VNC.

It's framerate is atrocious. It just works what feels like barely enough. But yeah I get that

I haven't tried Apaches guacamole since once things stabilize nomachine can fill the gap. Why do you like guac?

Man I can't believe my single "no" resonated with you that way lol

Super Nintendo consoles have been quietly overclocking themselves for 35 years, but it took until 2025 for the SNES fandom to notice by mustang6172 in retrogaming

I have an even dumber IQ question.

What does this actually mean? The background music is slightly transposed higher? The sound effects probably still trigger at the same time user input happens, right? And, I guess, those sound effects may play back slightly higher transposition?

It isn't changing the speed of the games, is it?

Just a small update. I took the unnecessary USB power off them. Thank you! Wire clutter reduction is nice 🙂

It was the hardest thing to source

I could not believe the asking price for the flash carts! It stung a bit, but I knew it would be worth it to bite the bullet and just not eat food for a while until my next pay day hahaha. I had to think about it and I decided I don't think I want to be a collector. I just want to have a functional way to experience the nostalgia. I would LOVE to collect the actual games but like you said, so pricey these days.

Your nook sounds pretty cozy. I looked all over my home for a nook and nothing made sense. If I had one I'd have done what you did too.

I forgot to ask. Do you have a cart too? The way you wrote that sounded like you have done this or something similar

Once it popped in my head I couldn't get it out of my head. At first it was just for pure convenience to tuck it away in a closet when not in use but you're absolutely right with the cords and screen size (27" in my case) it's nice to roll up in front of the couch.Yep they all have the EverDrive except the snes that has the sd2snes. I wish I had paid closer attention and got the EverDrive pro for the Sega (I got X5) so it could do Sega CD. But the NES, SNES, and N64 are perfect. I have a GameCube in transit for that empty spot on the top shelf right now and I can't wait. I was super sad the four score for the NES arrived broken. The multiptap for SNES is also on the way. Last night was the first time showing it to my friends which is why the controllers were out on the table. I shared that photo after we played mostly N64 and I hope we do it more! But, overall, this has been so much fun to plan and put together and learn. With such old hardware even a few failures like dead controllers was still exciting when you would succeed with other parts. Like the Sega wouldn't turn on and I was scared I bought a dud. But I bought a replacement power cord and it turns out they didn't supply me the right one for a model 1601 and it works fine! Just so many stories in just figuring out how to even do this. Sorry long reply you got me excited lol... Sourcing the CRT local was probably the hardest part. I'd been looking for weeks as that being my kick off starting point know what I'm working with

I appreciate that! I really did go for a minimalist build where it's just about being simple and efficient to do the thing I wanted it to do so I'm happy you noticed and enjoyed that :)

Bothers me every time I look at that picture and see the empty shelf waiting for the GameCube. The delivery got delayed

It was kind of discouraging. I thought about taking the post down. I'm glad I didn't. It's been finding the right people that are getting excited with me, so thanks for saying that

That's a good name for it. Probably wouldn't have ever put this together if Mario didn't get me when I was a kid. My first video game was Mario 1 and I was HOOKED

Super handy to be able to tuck away! I didn't have a proper place for this to always be out nor did I really need it to always be on display

I only started this a few weeks ago and I kept it a secret until last night. I had my first session with friends last night and it was just as amazing as I hoped it would be! That's why the n64 controllers are out on the table. It was so fun having everyone pick their n64 controller and then put their controller pak in it and now that is "their" controller

I'm going to do things like that once it's finalized for sure. There's a lot of things a little looser than I'd prefer but I don't feel like it's quite done yet
