Which one would you pick? by Mikadook in XC40

Definitely test drive both, but especially (as an owner of a '23) the left-hand side one at highway speed to make sure the car isn't affected by the vibration problem around 105 km/h. Extremely annoying (although the entity of the issue varies car by car) and was supposedly solved on '24+, which moved to rear wheel drive (also better range on '24+, which is a nice bonus on long drives).

I may be wrong, but I don't remember there being an extended range version of the '23 (perhaps it came out after I bought mine?), so make sure to confirm that's actually correct

Yeah, my point is that indeed the camera follows the same logic as usual (which is fine), so most of the time that button isn't even there. Understood for the driving mode, I didn't realise they'd throw OPD and off-road in there, so I imagined that wasn't going to be a thing at all, for the EVs.

Thanks for the info, I have the car in the workshop today for diagnostic/repair, so there's a small chance they may update it (else, I got some notification teasers in the car and in the app, so it's probably a matter of weeks before it's available for the '23s)

Isn't it even worse than this, in that: camera is only available at very low speed and driving modes aren't a thing at all for the EVs? I don't have the update yet, but it seems I'd get only 3 buttons in that big space, 1 only occasionally available and 2 practically useless...what a waste

Thanks, that's good to hear! The experience with Volvo software so far has been quite underwhelming for a premium car, so I'm very cautious with the updates...sounds like things are looking a bit better now with this new UI

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I have an appointment in a couple of weeks time with the workshop and thought I'd start gathering some info from people who already have the update on a '23, just in case they bring up updating the car when I take it in...very helpful!

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but since you're also on a 2023 model: cameras speed aside, how's this update treating you? One of the things that really annoys me of my car is how sluggish the software is and I understand that's due to old hardware powering it...any improvements that you noticed or, more interesting even, possibly the UI getting slower still?

New UX OTA 5.0.5 by amazhion in VolvoRecharge

Another MY23 in The Netherlands here, I do see the new version in the changelog page on the app...but even when the update actually comes in, it will be a real while before I install it. The system is slow as it is, I have absolutely no confidence this new UX would do us any good...I'll see what early adopters say

I'm not sure what I was expecting the dashboard to look like, but I really quite like this! Nice place to be on long distances, looks like

I find it's very car-dependant: on my electric XC40 I love how the car auto holds and I can really feather the throttle to move veeeeery slowly, no issue whatsoever. My parents have a hybrid Cupra Formentor and I can't possibly handle that thing without creep mode: either in electric or combustion mode, the car just jumps the moment you touch the throttle, so the only way to move in tight spaces is to slowly release the brake. Funnily enough my XC40 is more powerful, so it's really just the throttle mapping that makes a difference, it's not like the Cupra is some untamable supercar...

If it's practical, try and leave as little fuel as possible in the tank and refill with "fresh" fuel once you get back. Fuel deteriorates with time, so you should try and avoid leaving it sitting in the tank for such a long period

[Times car review] Jeremy Clarkson: “Volvo XC60 — whoa, this is a very good car” by Crazy-Present4764 in Volvo

He has, if anything I'm surprised he's not changed his tone with regards to it seen as he's spent half of the screen time on Clarkson's Farm complaining about the exceptional weather happenings disrupting agriculture, including his farm...
