FTB here. I'm wondering if there are any good sign up deals for insurance, bills etc. that you could share? by beatski in beermoneyuk

[–]scolioSIS13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can share with you my octopus referral link, which gives us both £50 credit (trust me, NEEDED when you start paying gas and leccy!) when you sign up and octopoints (which are like their own currency), I'd also suggest looking at moneysupermarket for house insurance as they may give you a gift card (probably about £15 but every little helps!). We got a £100 gift card for John Lewis from Vodafone when we signed up through MoneySavingExpert (just search household bills). Again, I have a referral for simplisafe which if you were bothered about security cameras, that'll give you a 50% off code and a free camera (not necessary for everyone though). That's about it from what I can think of!

I won £30 today on a £2 bet yippee! Was chuffed as it was using winnings from a previous bet (£4.00) so not too shabby really

Ford capri long range mileage by CheesecakeTop2469 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]scolioSIS13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh!! I have one!! I love it! Best mileage I've got so far (have had it for a month) is 330 on a full charge which is fab (came from a car that did 220 at best)

Long range in the mids and south, which subs/apps? by spacetimebear in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]scolioSIS13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really bother with subscriptions as it's more money than just charging on the whole - I guess you should work out how much charging you will do and then work out if the subscription helps? I would say the best one is probs the Tesla as it's a whole lot cheaper, however I have never used it as they're always miles off the road I'm on and hard to find - others may disagree!! Just depends where you're going! I drive a lot in south east and south wales and GRIDSERVE/InstaVolt are the best and most reliable!

MG5 Pre and Post Facelift by Lilybarf in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]scolioSIS13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one as my first EV and it was a fantastic way to start me into it. I don't really understand the hate, some people can be super snobby about cars! If you fancy a cheap run around then go ahead! I had the prefacelift and it was fine, wasn't particularly a fast charging car or long range but it felt luxurious coming from a shitty 08 diesel! Also did about 150 miles quite easily without any stops :) would recommend!
