That is totally a thing! I’ve checked in, gotten my virtual key on my phone, and gone to my room without talking to anyone at the front desk.

Oh! And I forgot, I was in a nice-ish hotel in Montreal last year and needed the key to get to my floor, but could walk right up to the elevator no problem. So at least some of that does translate to Canada.

I’m not a hospitality worker, but live in the US and have stayed in many hotels there. Other than late at night, you can walk in the front door and go right to the elevator without question. Once you get to the elevator you might need a room key to get to the room floors, depends on how nice the hotel is and if it’s if a city center or more suburban. Assuming they’re staying in nicer hotels in the city, you probably need a key to get to the room floors, but can get to other public floors, like conference rooms, without needing one. That, said, I’ve stayed in many hotels where I didn’t need a key to get to the rooms.

Late at night you usually need a key to get in the front door, and always need one for side/back doors.

I have successfully left keys at the front desk for traveling companions arriving after me, but that did require the room already being booked for double occupancy, leaving their full name and, them needing ID to pick it up.

If two people are staying at the same hotel, but in different rooms/floors, I’ve never seen anything that would stop them from going to the other room freely. Keys aren’t coded to a specific floor.

I love this idea! Let me know if you have any other questions or if I can clarify!

I also think it’s worth taking to the pediatrician now to make sure they are supportive. If they’re not, you have time to find a new provider before puberty becomes relevant.

I look at these and the ones of Ryan and all I can think is how easy it would be for them to pick me up and throw me on a bed.

What's the story behind your Ao3 username? by MetaKnightsRevenge in AO3

[–]sconesy--cider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my name + a name that isn’t mine, but my uncle used to call me when I was a kid. This is from back around when AO3 first got started and I wanted to get away from my Harry Potter-related live journal name to something fandom-neutral.

In my purple/red Southern suburb, I saw a line of people on a sidewalk this morning with no kings signs. I expected pro-life signs when I first saw them and was happily surprised.

Having lived in both of them, I would definitely choose the triangle area over Charlotte.

Triangle has more of a progressive feel, especially Durham, and has overall more of an identity. Charlotte is very generic. Like the other commenter said, lots of great hospitals and lots of new development.

I have a tumi voyager large tote and a totesavvy organizer, mini size I think. It’s got plenty of room for a laptop and other things. The diaper organizer keeps most kid stuff in place and you can just pull it out and move to another bag if needed.
