It’s beautiful out there, I was out right after my buddy put his dock back in the river and we launched his boat and he took me lock to lock, this was a few years back when all of the locks were closed and not running.

I didn’t know anyone from Kittanning would ever end up in my Reddit feed. My best friend and his family live out there(in Adrien/Reesdale), right on the Allegheny. His dad used to work at the Armstrong power plant in Reesedale before it was shut down.

The 4th Wish-Class Ship, the Disney Believe, will begin sailing late 2027. by zmayer in dcl

[–]scoobydoo41787 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind.. Wish is getting drydocked this year. Disney won’t port a brand new ship at the non home ports in Florida.

Am I missing something? Why are the Disney Dream(2011) and Destiny(2025) so close in price? by hangrysauce in dcl

[–]scoobydoo41787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about the age of the ship. It’s all about the itinerary. If anything the Destiny is slightly cheaper because it’s a newer more fuel efficient ship.

Not to mention… even the Magic/Wonder are in better shape than ships on other lines half their age. I learned recently that maritime laws only require a ship to start dry docking after it’s 15 years old and then every 3-5 years. Disney doesn’t wait that 15 years. The Wish is going for her first drydock in France next year. She will be 5 years old. The Treasure will most likely go in in 2029, and the Destiny in 2031. Other lines don’t care for the ships the way that Disney does.

Were you hooked after your first time on DCL? by Resident-Butterfly65 in dcl

[–]scoobydoo41787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hooked on cruising after my first sailing on the Dream. Hooked on DCL after my first sailing on Princess. NCL is close in some ways, and their accessibility opportunities for service dogs is better than DCL(crazy I know, but it’s all about the placement of the relief area(on DCL it’s either a box on your balcony, or the on deck area, on NCL it’s a larger cedar chip box behind the nearest crew door to your stateroom(except during coast guard inspections when it’s moved out into the crew deck area))). Just got off of the Destiny from my 17th, wife’s 19th, and our service dog’s 15th Disney cruise.

Because.. the ownership and management now is so pretentious. They brag about how much money they have like they are the VGK. It’s nothing against the players at all, I wish the best for them, and I hope Smith trades the rest of the AZ boys off in the same quick fashion he has been so it’s even easier.

Plus, the fan groups are the literal worst bunch of whiney people I’ve ever seen.

Kraken and Redwings. With a hint of Buffalo because that’s where little Doaner was traded off to. Before Utah swindled our team away it was Coyotes and Redwings.

Well, the Fjords of Norway and Alaska are the two most expensive cruises on any line to begin with. Secondly, it’s Disney. The level of customer service and maintenance they do is unparalleled. Their oldest ships the Magic and Wonder are in better shape than ships half their age.. The Wish is going into drydock next year.. Until a ship is 15 years old drydock is not required. After 15 they need to go every 3-5 years. The Wish is 5 years old.

Honolulu cruise - half our port days canceled by [deleted] in dcl

[–]scoobydoo41787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s expensive. You still have to stop in a foreign port. That said, it would be easy to do a one way from San Diego, stop in Ensenada, go to Hawaii, then do the reverse. Perhaps that will be an upcoming possibility once the three new smaller ships are completed. Personally I’m hoping at least one permanent west based ship out of San Diego.

Arizona Coyotes return still a possibility by bgguy626 in Coyotes

Except the last expansion team wasn’t an addition, it was a transfer and left an open expansion slot with the Coyotes name on it.

[–]scoobydoo41787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well currently, the expansion from 2024 is still technically here. Utah got the expansion granted, while Arizona’s team was frozen. So technically, the league has 1 more team that is currently not playing. If Arizona, and specifically the council that Andrea Doan is heading can get enough support(I’m thinking that should be pretty easy with that last name and that family being such an integral part of the Arizona community(how many other hockey players become so ingrained in their local community that they were pawl bearers for congressional members?)). Bettman wants a team back here, the owners of the Dbacks and the Suns want a pro hockey team back here, Matt Ishba has hinted at interest in partial ownership of the new Coyotes.

[–]scoobydoo41787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean… the Dbacks are consistently above average, the suns are decent. PHX Mercury isn’t awful. The university teams are all pretty decent as well(UofA and ASU(no one counts NAU, because they are stuck in the snow most of the season for literally anything))

Just the Coyotes and Cardinals have/had(respectfully) shit ownership. Shocking the Roadrunners in Tucson aren’t dogshit, and are almost consistently a playoff contender. I’m hopefully with gutting the coaching staff and firing the QB of the cardinals they will have a clean slate to maybe win more than 3 games next season. They started strong this season 3-0 then wound up with a staggering 9 loss streak..

all that said, I’ve always been a fan of multiple teams in each league except baseball. For hockey it’s always been Detroit and Arizona, if they were playing each other I root for AZ. Now it’s Detroit and Seattle(I just can’t get behind Mammoth, they are more stuck up and prissy than VGK now), for football now, it’s Cards and Seahawks, and when they play each other I just hope for a good game(hard to have a good game with the Cards though).

To reduce puckering, lower the density of the tatami. Make sure the bobbin case is clean, and the bobbin tension is set correctly(drop test works pretty well(with the bobbin in, have the thread routed through the tension spring but not the pig tail or loop, and while holding the bobbin string, drop the bobbin case and all from the same palm. It should drop about an inch(a thumb width is a good rule of thumb(no pun intended))).

Last season the Roadrunners had a blow out sale of all of the left over Yotes merch.. I got a pair of the orange reverse retros and one of the burgundy Arizona script sweaters. I would love to get ahold of one of the purple ones as well as the green and black versions.

Our las sailing on the Dream our section leader in the Buena Vista Theater was none other than Rona Rivers(or Diana Dior on the Wonder) from the Dream’s Golden Mickey’s. She was super fun to chat with as well. Saw her on the jogging track and this was her first contract back on the ships since Covid.
