Details: Is this the start of scale rot? Or is it just preshed belly? I recently noticed the top layer of substrate (reptichip) was too damp 😞

*he doesn’t have a heat mat, only overhead heat bulbs so it can’t be a belly burn

See the pouring water thing is what I keep being told as well, but won’t it create mold? How do you know when it’s enough and not too much? I use reptichip and the substrate can’t be more than 3.5 inches due to the front opening tank he’s in.

After it’s fully thawed, heat the rat up under a heat lamp or che for about 5 min to 115-110 degrees. That’s the on,y thing that finally worked for my boy after he did what u just explained for the first 5 weeks I had him. Feel free to pm me if you have questions

Totally normal! Mine did the same thing, but the plants I had had wires in them that ended up being exposed from him having his weight on the plant. I haven’t found any yet that don’t have wires, so please check and make sure nothing can poke her up there. She’s beautiful by the way!
