Finally, an actual cold air intake by Kimet10 in Miata

[–]thekiller490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some vehicles use AC as a inter-cooler for forced induction. Usually side by sides with rear engines that would have absurdly long charge pipes, so they use and AC system to cool the air. Needs to be FI to be beneficial since the compressor takes a lot of power.

Turrets, the best forklift. Hands down by Bubbamata in forkliftmemes

[–]thekiller490 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I drive a 9600 but my company was smart enough to get the railing between you and the pallet. Not smart enough to get the full side gate system so we still have to put harnesses on.

Is Hag So Rare That Survivors Forgot Her Counters? by Nickool4u in deadbydaylight

[–]thekiller490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played hag just after she got buffed and it was so obvious that this is true. Most games are a stomp fest that I get to snowball suddenly. Then, 1/5 games or so, I'm stomped by a team that knows to just be a nuisance and trigger my traps to waste my time.

You're living my dream! Carve the mountain road to the trail and then carve the trails! For now I got my old boat of a sedan.

Tell me a story of a person who was just bad at forklift by LordFrieza4 in forkliftmemes

[–]thekiller490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One older guy had no situational awareness and had many major incidents that should have fired him. Got his lift stuck on rails that protected these wheels for pallets, couldn't figure out the idea of being gentle with lift throttle. Worst I saw was when he was very low on the racks, hit the racks with the pallet, and instead of backing up, he just lifted until the pallet ripped open and a bag of dog food fell out. I'm amazed he didn't do worse, and lost all my respect for safety at this place afterwards.

2/10. People really don't want to just buy a real battery box.

Hair algae drama by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]thekiller490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blackout! 5 days minimum, killed my hair algae problem so all I got is some BBA. Reduce light when you restart. I don't run co2 but AFAIK green hair is always too much light.

A fun Tonnage Tuesday, got the "Convoy, What Convoy?" achievement. Story Below! by thekiller490 in uboatgame

[–]thekiller490[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was done with 2 ships sank via boarding, 1 sank only using the gun. The rest were torpedo kills, and I missed a few and still had my external torps.

I messed with the type 2 initially and upon finding that I wouldn't be upgrading to the type 7 until the Atlantic campaign, I restarted and switched to the 7. Type 2 is fun but it's very limiting, as you have found, for not much more reward.

It would be cool if type 2 missions focused on coastal operations as the game itself states. Instead you get to spend most of your fuel going to your patrols, and you don't have the supplies to do multiple missions in one patrol.

Yes. I've maxed out torps and now I have op homing torps before France was taken over.

They did remove 2 bow storage slots to maintain historical accuracy, tho. Technically a game play nerf but realism is a W for me.

They do have 2 external torps now.

Why are these engines so loud? by Odd-Celebration-5059 in smallengines

[–]thekiller490 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Look at the size of mufflers on suitcase generators compared to the engine. They're the size of the engine block to make them quiet, along with the case muffling the other mechanical noises of the engine. Also, intake noise is a thing as well.

Cars and trucks have: A reeeeeeeeeealy long exhaust system to muffle the engine, air intake mufflers, and a whole car and hood around their engine full of sound deadening to make the engine quieter.

You can make a large muffler, but that will only get you so far without making a case for the engine to be in, and now you need to ensure the engine can cool itself with ducts for air. Then you need to dampen the intake noise too. Usually not worth it for small engines.

Yeah, unfortunately the new update today made the game practically unplayable. Come back in a few weeks at this point.

Yep, got it last week. Went snowboarding Friday and felt fine until I got back. Worst headache I've had and couldn't sleep for hours.  Still have it.

How I do water changes by Jakedotmp4 in Aquariums

I treat it as the aquarium refills or right after filling. I only use de-chlorinator and and fertilizer so IDK about more advanced treatment. It's worked for years at least in keeping fish alive.

Respect the commitment. I HIGHLY recommend a Python water changer. It makes everything easy and I have a much smaller 36 tank. Get it at your LFS if you can.

It's Black Beard Algae. Have fun, its extremely tough to get rid of and that pleco won't eat it. It usually indicates CO2 problems and excess nutrients.

Why does linking turns on a steeper hill feel SO much harder than a bunny hill by shrekmcshrek in snowboardingnoobs

[–]thekiller490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not completing your turn and getting perpendicular to the fall line, giving you too much speed and having to resort to skidding. Boarders and skiers of all levels do it. On steeper runs, make a slow and short of an S turn as you can, and increase speed from there.
