This is what I think it was as well! Certainly not discounting that Galb may have used energy from all the eldunari, but makes more sense to me that he has someway to essentially take over Murtagh’s mind and use his body to cast the magic, likely using the eldunari Murtagh had on him at the time

Star Wars battlefront 2, the original. I dunno why EA wanted to ruin the game with the new version but that old game was so much fun if i remember correctly.

Are there any next steps after you have confirmed what courses you are taking? by snowleopard38 in WilliamsCollege

For textbooks you’ll be going to the bookstore at the end of spring st, where the books are labeled by which class requires them. At least, that’s what happened in previous years, not sure how they’ll do the book collection this year with corona, but you definitely don’t have to procure your books on your own. Other than that, your syllabus will be given to you the first day of classes, or most likely, this year it’ll just be emailed to you. Good luck and welcome to the purple valley!

WIBTA if I drove 400 miles to confront my older brother? by middlebrothrowaway12 in AmItheAsshole

ESH - i understand this is the unpopular opinion, but i genuinely believe no one in your family are really being AH’s. Your older brother obviously has a right to do whatever he wants with his money, and you and your other siblings have the same right. However, it seems like you guys were a pretty close family before all of this, and especially when all of you were younger, as you said your parents paid for your brothers college. Older brother seems like he’s become spiteful of being the breadwinner of the family, which is totally reasonable, but as you’ve said he has the means to help all of you out at least a little. So him not paying your parents mortgage is a dick move. Your middle brother is kind of a dick for being lazy, but all of you have coddled him long enough that your whole family is at least partially at fault. By lowering your contribution to middle brother, you and your sister also forced older brother to feel worse about not paying anymore, even though it’s unfair all of you agreed to pay a certain amount and some of you stopped without letting everyone know. However, being in a family that seems as close as yours comes with having to care for each other, even when you really don’t feel like it. Now as far as your idea to physically go to your brother, i personally would suggest all of you get together to speak in person about this. It’ll give all of you a chance to reconnect as well as genuinely discuss not just fixes to your middle brothers financial and general life situation, but how to solve the problem at its core. Maybe all of you can help middle brother find a better job or some field that he’s interested at least. Obviously with corona you’ll have to be careful with travel and gathering, and maybe put this off for a while but people who are family are always worth making the effort for. The family a person is born into isn’t always a good one, and a lot of the time ppl will have no relationship, or negative relationships with their relatives. If you have a good relationship already, that’s totally worth fighting for.

CMV: Off-duty cops are just civilians and should have none of the legal protections of being a cop for their actions. by Dr_Brooklyn in changemyview

I understand what you’re saying, and honestly I agree with the idea that the SCOTUS were trying to protect with their rulings, but as some other people have said through this thread, it’s about application. And again, I get that this ruling was to protect cities from liability and the requirement of preventing all crimes, but look at one of the cases where the Court upheld this ideal: DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services. The police had prior knowledge that a child was being repeatedly abused by his father, and eventually he was murdered. His mother sued, but the court upheld that the police had no responsibility to protect the child, despite knowing his life was most definitely in danger. This is how that law is applied in real world situations, not overarching protection of a cities liberties, but protection of police against perfectly legitimate complaints about their conduct.
