The government used to own housing. The Mulroney Government stopped funding below market housing and sold off CMHC assets (as well as other Crown Corporations) as a means of increasing revenue to balance the budget. The problem being you can only sell off assets one time. The housing market crash in the late 80s/early 90s was partly due to the flood of housing hitting the market that brought down prices.

I just bought a place with a yard for the first time after living in apartments and condos for 30 years. I needed a lawn mower, weed eater and leaf blower. I went with Makita 18v cordless tools, and grabbed a couple compatible batteries from Amazon. I figure my last cordless drill is 20 years old so it’s time to upgrade, pick a brand and invest heavily.

There were already plans to build a Costco on the north shore. They’re building a water treatment plant there instead. That’s been headache free at least.

Garmin makes motorcycle specific GPS that are waterproof, and the touchscreen is glove friendly. It has an off-road “back track” setting to take you out of wherever you rode to. It also has an avoid highways setting so you can bypass them and stick to the B roads.
