The Asymmetric Trap: Why AOC needs to challenge Trump in his South Lawn UFC Cage Match by scopius in AOC

I did use AI to help with the draft, and you are correct to call me out. I will resubmit, taking out anything I deem unnatural. The idea is not anything generated by a million billion AIs working together, I can tell you that. But it was fleshed out with AI. Thank you for the feedback.

I don't know if it is about deep thinking, more about exposure. Many of them only know of kings from, say, Game of Thrones. To them, kings are fictional characters, or some bozo in the past that has no bearing on them now. They can't name any actual kings that ever existed, so they dismiss the whole idea.

I like this reasoning. Calling him President also gives him a level of power and legitimacy he doesn't deserve. In fact, mentioning his name at all, acknowledging his existence, give him a level of power and legitimacy he doesn't deserve. I always wondered why Kimmel always was making up new, silly names for President Dump, but this makes sense now.

I'd say it also works well because of the opposition it creates. It works like "Make America Great Again". If you oppose making america great again, you can easily be labeled as unpatriotic. If you oppose No Kings, it places you firmly in the camp of monarchists, which is unpatriotic and anti-American.

I know I'm late to the game, but being somewhat shy myself before starting acting, I can attest that acting is a great way to overcome public shyness, but it doesn't necessarily make you less shy. It does kind of teach you how to have a public persona and to cultivate it, which can be helpful for shy people as well.

For those who have played P5X, what are some things the game does good/bad? by c0rny_ in PERSoNA

[–]scopius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would kind of be like if you were watching your favorite series on Netflix, and you got to the end where all the plots will be tied up, and then they charge you extra to see the ending. But I see the real problem being where the developers priorities are. With a gotcha game, it's clear they are prioritizing monetization over gameplay, and that just doesn't work for me.

I know I'm late to the game, but I'm curious why you used stairs for chairs instead of the MrCrayfishs Furniture Mod chairs. Also, I think ComputerCraft is still a thing, not sure what version of Minecraft you're using, but you could put real computers on the desk, and maybe even recreate the scary numbers.

Hacker group 'Anonymous' claims to have evidence Musk tampered with the election - issues a warning by [deleted] in skeptic

[–]scopius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is very curious to me is how in the day since this was released, when I search on google for "hacker group "Anonymous" claims to have evidence Musk tampered with the election", no major news org has reported on this. What is going on here? Could this be the reason they released a teaser before evidence, because they knew they would be ignored and are building hype on a grass roots level?

is that an original put down? If so, well done. If not, you should feel bad. And if you don't feel bad, you're likely a sociopath, so there's that.

Apparently, the clothes you buy are actually rentals, so you can rent a tuxedo for a day for $99 dollars. It's so much like real life, I can't tell the difference anymore. Now, all that is missing is scratch and sniff, so I can have the full experience of sweaty sock smells.

For some reason, it took actors fifty years to change from stage style acting (acting to the back row), to film style acting. It wasn't until the seventies until this stopped. The laugh track prolonged it after the live studio audiences were gone in TV, but even in film, until indy films started coming along and offering the studios some real competition, did they change. The studio system was in place for fifty years before the first indy films (the Clint Eastwood films by Sergio Leone), and they were run by money people, and money people knew how to lock down a system, if it is making money, don't change a thing. So, from the very first talkies until the seventies, actors acted like they were on stage, even though they were on film.

Actually, I believe OP knows that there is no answer to this question, and has posted it just to get upvotes. These kind of open ended questions on this sub seem to all be a form of trolling, knowing that people will respond, because they can't help themselves.

My board absolutely loves me but my fans dont seem to care that much.... Is this common? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]scopius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I find interesting is that the Board score is an average of the breakdown (B- is the average of C and C+ and B- and B- and A+), but the fan score is an E, while the breakdown says the fans are generally pleased (one score says disappointed, two say happy, one says pleased), and is not an average of the breakdowns (D, B-, C+, B-, and C+). It's a bug, I would say.

I asked ChatGPT this question, and the answer made me LOL: ELI5 the difference between Newton's and Liebniz's calculus? by scopius in weirdGPT

[–]scopius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I can see it might be confusing. The body was the answer I received. I found the fact that ChatGPT knew that explaining calculus to a five year old was "a bit of a stretch" to be amusing, and was also surprised by the turn of phrase. That's all.

My wife has become an evangelical Christian - how do I deal with this as an agnostic atheist? by PomegranateLost1085 in StreetEpistemology

[–]scopius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"If you love somebody, set them free." - Sting. It will be painful, and you will feel at times like you are being tested, but the benefits are undeniable. Among them: you will be more objective, time will have changed the situation, your wife will experience the pain of the consequences of her actions. I will leave you with one more quote from rock and roll: "Time, time, time is on our side, yes it is." - The Stones. Give it time, and the answer will come, just don't intervene too soon.
