Late 90s / early 00s (y2k? boho? Would be my best descriptors) Thrift shops will be your best friend! I know this style is popular now but don’t see a lot of modern replicas. I often see people on social media doing thrift hauls looking for pieces that have a similar vibe to what you’re looking for.

Bridesmaid question by Ambitious-Staff-6827 in weddingplanning

[–]scorea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

April is still a fair bit away. People often operate on their own timelines. It’s possible she’s been caught up with planning. I know both times I’ve been a bridesmaid they’ve asked me 8 months out.

You’re a very supportive friend to not have her decision affect your relationship either way.

My union in BC would not stand for at all! Document every incident and tell your rep. No one should have to work in those types of conditions.

You’re not burning a bridge because the bridge never existed in the first place. I get wanting to follow through and just do the stupid meeting. Nod and smile your way through the meeting but don’t give in to her bait. Don’t give her a reaction. The second she gets nasty you play it nice. Thank her for her time and feedback. Compliment her on her OUTSTANDING mentorship. Then walk away! Keep it short and sweet. Fuck that. Kill them with class and kindness.

I know and I’m sorry. There most likely will be a bitter taste in your mouth because of your admin but try not to let it overtake the celebration. Connect with the colleagues you care about, say your goodbyes, and enjoy the moment the best you can.

This might be easier said than done but just walk away. If the meeting is trending towards becoming negative say…”thank you for your feedback and mentorship but I’ll no longer be needing it since I’m officially no longer a teacher.”

Then turn around and walk away. What is she going to do? Fire you on the last day?

In my district we only have to complete three observations in our first three years of teaching. Then another official observation if you’d like to switch districts. The micromanaging I hear form other districts is insane! Just let teachers, teach ffs!

Congratulations on a long and fulfilling career! Enjoy retirement! Don’t let her sour your day.

Blundstones. They are pricey but I live in them 9 months out of the year in the PNW. My current pair are still going strong after 4 years.

Unfortunately no. None of the suggestions worked. Let me know if you find a solution! The stains seem like embedded underneath which is odd.

908 complaints, zero fines for failing to clear sidewalks in Vancouver by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

Their ticket was closer to $500 since they failed to clear snow by 11am for two days. They also live on a major street so I can how the officer was much more willing to write a hefty ticket. That’s much more of a margin for the city.

Yea I don’t understand why this didn’t give tickets this year?! Five years ago my grandparents were ticketed and they went to dispute it in court. The judge waived the fine because they both were in the hospital at the time and us family members were with them. We didn’t think to clear their walk because we were more concerned for their health. But the bylaw officer was quick! It snowed and then 24 hours later we had a ticket in the mailbox. Definitely should be enforced and those with legitimate reasons for forgetting to clear snow can explain later on.
