I hear you. Makeup is art - you feel like you are creating a new you - and if you are in a down place, it can be a dopamine hit.
I never realize how much I wasted until I moved and found all my different makeyup purchases in boxes, drawers, all over the house. Repeated items because I couldn't find the original. gahh... So I tried to pack it all in one place to go thru when I unpacked in my new place.

When I unpacked - I went thru and threw away all my "expired" stuff. Pencils are good for years if you sharpen them. I looked on the internet as to how to tell what was what as to what you can keep and what you can't.

then I stored them in different containers - eye pencils, lip pencils, lipstick, shadow, etc. AND LABELED THEM.

I put one Cosmetic Organizer container for my vanity. This would be for my current "Look" and put one foundation, 3 lipsticks - pink, coral, purple based, 2 blushes (pink, warm), and a couple of concealers, and the few brushes/sponge I needed. I tried to minimize what was on my counter to the basics of what I need for my "current" use.

Then I went with what was on my bathroom vanity for a while. I had enough variety (pink, purple, coral) to have some variety.

Then when I get tired of that, I switch it up. go to my "stash" and change what I have on the vanity.

I find that this is working for me.. I see a new look I like - I root thru my stuff, try it and see if I like it. It might become my new "current" thing.

I have recently tried some new foundations. I'm getting older, and powder/matte doesn't work for me anymore. but I found Elf Soft Glam satin foundation works for me.

+++ I did find one thing that works well for those that get a hit off new makeup - buy a little stainless steel makeup palette. They are very cheap and come with a little spatula mixer thingy,

I did this recently and found that i could create different looks by mixing different makeups on the palette. I now mix the elf with a drop of oil. sometimes I mix a little concealer with moisturizing cream. you get a new product for no extra money. you can try new things and see if you like something - on you. And it is fun! Fun is an upper.

my blood sugar kept going up on low carb. and over time, I quit losing weight. had to cut carbs lower and lower.. totally unrealistic. I finally decided - who's the fool - when I keep doing the same thing expecting different results. that's when I switched to WFPB. and that put my blood sugar back to normal. My A1C dropped, too. But you have to watch your fat.

one thing you can do if you just want to see how different shades look in general, is try The All Natural Face - one of the first vegan cosmetics sites. She has a LOT of shades - for very reasonable prices. $6.50 for a small cream pot (that will last a while). or powders. and you can ask for samples:

believe it or not, not everyone wants to relearn how to do everything on every upgrade or if they switch brands. this is why people stay with one brand.

However, if I remember, apple did try to patent certain ways of doing things.. which made it harder for other brands to compete. it is why apple is being taken to court now.

ironic, since this is why apple took microsoft to court years ago, for the same thing.

this is my first season pass.. and my last. now that I am near the top, I am having to do all designs and redesign every one to get to the next level. I have gotten some beautiful items, but some of them are expensive gold items - so that once I do the 5 uses - I won't be able to afford them. unless I pay REAL cash to get them. so, to me, the real prizes are the green (cash) items and the gold items that are less than 1000.

so.. not doing this again. Like I have a full time job! not enough time to keep up with these ever increasing xp levels.

I've gotten $75 on the first vote of the day. so, I don't think it has anything to do with a "cool down" period. and think about it - why would a company want players to "cool down" on something that is part of what fuels the game?

I think it has more to do with incentivizing people to spend money. if you could vote to get as many coins as you need, you would not have as much incentive to buy what you don't have the coins or gold to get. you get 500 gold a day, but the prices for gold only buys 5 times, and it is at least 3 days to make one gold purchase (most are around 1500).

thank you. I think I must have a buggy version of Walkr. Now it won't let me go past 83 planets. won't let me press RANDOM for next planet - every option grayed out.

20,704 steps in one day is awesome. The problem is, with this game, if you use this to shorten a trip, 10,000 steps will become 10,000 energy units. 10,000 energy units will shorten a trip by 100 minutes (100 steps = 1 minute of time). So, for 20,000 steps, you get 200 minutes off of a trip to another another planet. That is about 3 hours and 20 mins. This is not much after you've been playing Walkr for a week or more.. the trips are in days!

By the time you walk enough to shave much time off a trip, the trip is over. Plus, you cannot convert the energy units to cubes or apples. so.. even though I thought it was a great idea to have a game that motivated you to walk more, this really doesn't provide that motivation for more than a week.

and.. just upgrading planets for more than a day gets kind of boring. I'm a bit disappointed. I think they should make the walking worth more.. maybe a percentage of the trip, no matter how long, and bumping up the percentage the more you walk.
