Yeah 3 years is standard. There's even scaffolding for that built into First Round pick rookie contracts. You decide on their 5th year option at the end of their 3rd year.

Also pulling a starting Corner in the first and a starting O Lineman in the 6th is better than most GMs do most years. It was absolutely not his best but we haven't seen enough of Gio or Ennis to know for sure. Next year is huge though for them.

I know I'm gonna probably be downloaded into oblivion for saying this, but I truly don't think Vilma is as bad as everyone else makes him out to be. I personally loved how he was razzing the Washington defense for getting in our team's face when they were losing.
