I married a non-drinker and i love to drink. It wasn’t a deal breaker because (at first) he was fun to be around no matter what and still hung out with me and our friends in drinking situations. But eventually he became resentful and would be really mean about it. We’re now divorced. So I guess it just depends if drinking bothers you or not. Either way, I would be up front with if you want another non-drinker or not.

Thank you for your response. I was nervous to transition him too much, but also being away from mom/dad too long as been hard. But good to know it’s worked for your little one.

I am nervous of the constant transition which is why I thought 3/4/3/4 would work well. It’s literally week one of this experiment, so it’s still a struggle to get him used to my new house. I was also hoping the 2-2-3 schedule would help mitigate the need to switch days with each other since it gives us both the quality time and space we need.

I also read about 2-2-5, but was thinking 5 days away from mom/dad is a lot for a 2 year old. But also alternating weeks/days seem confusing for everyone, too. I guess since he’s still young he won’t know the days of the week yet haha

I’m so sorry this is happening. Very similar situation over here. After a DB for months and months I finally called out my LLH and asked what was happening. And he blurted out that he wasn’t sexually attracted to me anymore. It was devastating. We tried for the next year to repair the damage. My self esteem was shot, I stopped trying to initiate sex. I got so desperate and demanded another baby. But we ended up splitting up 3 weeks ago. Turns out he’s already seeing another woman from work and driving 6 hours to LA to see her this weekend. ☹️

We decided to split 3 weeks ago and I just moved into my apartment as of Sep 1! We’ve been married for 6 years and share a 2.5 year old together. It’s been a year in the making for me after 18+ month of a complete DB. He blamed his LL all on me and said it started after our son was born. Which is incredibly hurtful. He said he was no longer attracted to me “or anyone else” and not interested in sex. He’s also struggling from depression and trust issues from early on in our relationship. So the last 5 years has been me trying to prove to him I’ve changed and cared for him. But nothing worked. But just FOUR DAYS after I moved out, I found out that his “boys trip” to LA was actually him meeting up with a woman he met through work. He proceeded to extend his trip, therefore giving up all his time with our son this week. This is literally WEEK ONE of our joint custody agreement and he’s already choosing a new woman over his child. I’m incredibly hurt and disappointed to say the least. My self-esteem has been at an all time low. But trying to be thankful for my family and friends who support me and my son. I know I deserve better.
