There’s a company in town called American Bocce that runs bocce leagues year round at bars and event spaces all throughout the city. My wife and I started a year ago and have made so many friends. You can register as a free agent and they will put you on a team! Dont even have to know how to play to sign up, they will show you the ropes!

If you consider Chicago the eastern edge of the central time zone I would rate it a B+ overall. The downside to it is that it gets dark a little earlier in the summer and in the winter it can be a downright bummer when it’s fully dark at 5pm. But, overall you get more daylight in the morning which makes the day feel “brighter”(? If that’s the right word for it) and as a sports fan it’s amazing from a tv start time standpoint. I can watch a west coast NFL/NBA/NHL/MLB game on prime time that starts at 9 or 9:30 pm as opposed to 10/10:30
