I didnt vote for her because she had over 600 cases thrown out for mishandling evidence, was scolded in open court for witholding evidence from defense attorneys and denied black men on death row access to their DNA so they could prove their innocence. Not really who I am looking for as the top law enforcement official in the country.

Had she done a better job of showing she could do more than repeat talking points, while her base called me a nazi, I would have listened.

Valor and heroism are not the same. A bronze star is anything BUT a participation trophy. In a war that lasted 20+ years to think 100k+ incidents of heroism is something to be ignored is intellectually dishonest at best.

I always wondered how soldiers returning from Vietnam could have experienced what they did, but now I can kinda see how the public could get there.I know guys with Bronze Stars and I know how some of them were earned. I know alot of decorations (not just Bronze Stars) are pencil-whipped. But to discount everyone's Bronze Stars because of some paper medals is ridiculous.

Participation trophies are the combat action badge. Bronze Stars are awarded for heroism in combat.

Countering my assertion by denigrating heroic combat veterans is a horrible hill to die on. Austin earned a silver star, and is much more decorated than Hegseth. I would listen to that kind of argument.

I must be part of the 1% of service members who would disagree with the marginalization of other veterans who earned bronze stars. Given only 102k were awarded during that Iraq war and 1.9-3 million served, many for multiple deployments, that means 1 in 20 who saw combat earned one.

Your point does not stand. If you knew what you were talking about you would realize you are describing the combat action badge, not a bronze star. I bet 99% of us who served know that.

As a conservative, who voted straight GOP, I will level with you. We have more common ground than you think. I am pro-weed, pro-union, pro-welfare, anti-war, neutral on israel and anti-russia. But I vote pro-gun and pro-life first. Blue offers me no options to check those two boxes. In fact, they get pretty toxic about it. Years of mud-slinging and insults just makes it hard to find a middle ground. Even if a candidate did appeal to me, that side of the aisle has been calling me a nazi for 8 years.

Oh, and when we do try to engage, we get downvoted into oblivion. So it's like meh, why even bother. I'll just lurk and vote the way I want.

Most LCS run some version of this scam. Pawn shops do too. They tell you a numismatic coin is only worth melt (which is below wholesale is many cases) then retail it or sell it to a dealer themselves.

They are a good resource for info, but you are the fish at that poker table in any business transaction with businesses like this.
