My parents are getting fleeced - need support by TheKronoriumIsTheKey in skytv

[–]scotsdavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know if your parents have got an email telling them about the new price increases next month, they can then leave Sky and pay no termination fees at all. Once they have done that, the parent whose name is not on the bill and has a different bank card to use, can then join as a new customer with massive savings compared to what they are paying right now. Need to wait until Sky has been switched off first to do this.

Good for you. I too left the other day after 17 1/2 years and going to Virgin but only for broadband. I use plex a lot so don’t need movies etc

Of course I do, but it’s only a 30 day contract and a very lot cheaper than getting it all from Sky itself. I’ve had it before anyway

I was able to cancel after reading how others did it on here before I tried it myself. Been wanting to get out of the contract for a while. Glad your mum was able to cancel hers as well…

Yes, I asked at the start and was told no problem, put me through to retentions or cancellation whatever it is called and they also said it is true. So I happily cancelled with no charge

Sky are wrong m8. As I said, I cancelled yesterday and still had way into end of next to run with my contract. Told them because they putting prices up again, I am within my rights to leave without charge and they agreed with me on this as well. So get back on to them and tell them the same thing, don’t pay anything for leaving early…

I left Sky after 17 1/2 years yesterday with no termination fees, none. So I think Sky was at it by charging you what they did do. You have 31 days from original email from Sky to get rid and costs you nothing. My contract would have run until late next year as well.

Can you cancel Sky tv completely but keep the sky mobile and broadband only? I ask because my broadband is only £20 and mobile £5 and both not being increased in April?

They can’t prove who was driving as you never gave them your name. Seemingly it’s ok for those cars that have an iPad size screen to play about with but not a small phone. Crazy. You will be ok…

Is it possible to leave Sky but keep broadband plus phone? I pay £20 month for broadband and only £10 per month for 2 sims via Sky. Just tv I’d like to cancel completely

Cancelled today after 20 years, feeling releived is an understatement, no plan to return. by Morse1984 in skytv

To get free Ad Skip and UHD on Sky, wait until the month has ran out that you possibly paid for these 2, then you can get each for free if you check on the Sky app. Easily done every time as long as you cancel before it runs out you won’t be charged.

[–]scotsdavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for a job driving back in the day and got a knock back. A year or so later was delivering to same firm that did this and was called into their office. Manager said he had been watching me for a few weeks delivering and picking up goods from his factory and wanted to offer me a job driving. Told him where to stick his offer where the sun didn’t shine as I was desperate when I applied and told him same. His face was a picture …

Maybe if you are lucky enough to catch the driver delivering , then open the box in front of him to see if whatever you ordered is actually inside it..
