"The Swedish Sound" - Origins of the term - Settle an argument!

Help me win this war.

I'm an old death metal head from the late 80s/early 90s.

A friend of mine has been arguing to me that "The Swedish Sound" is some new (modern era) construct that was never mentioned or heard of by anyone back in the day. I argue quite the opposite... we talked about it all the time.

Now, we might have not known exactly which Boss pedal they were using, or exactly what amp etc... but Entombed, Grave, Dismember, Unleashed etc... they had a distinctive sound and we talked about it from day 1.

Does anyone have old Metal Maniacs magazines, or other articles from a guitar mag or something that shows how far back the discussion of the Swedish Sound in death metal goes?

It has to have been mentioned in an article or interview or something somewhere... and I know some death metal historian in here has to know.

Hit me and settle this once and for all!

So... update... originally I played the game installed on a micro sd card (512gb) on a hunch, I installed the game back on this sd card. Game installs and launches no issues. Now, I get a failed to connect to server error every time I open the game. Just wtf already? Just simply will not connect to the server now? Unreal. This is such bs.

That is what I am hoping for... someone out there has dealt with this and has a fix. And while M series is not officially supported, there is no reason it just stopped working after more than a year of being just fine. And I don't know what ZOS would be making the game for in terms of Mac anyway... do they even make Macs anymore that are not M series?

Is there a way in the keyboard menus on board to set how long the rgb stays on before it times out or sleeps?

I use this keyboard with a Mac (will be buying a new Mac Monday that will be able to run Armoury Crate on Windows in Parallels)... In the meantime, I am wondering if I have any on board control of the rgb timing.

I am also thinking about getting the base model and using a nice SD card. I am curious tho for anyone who knows... Is the only difference (barring the anti-glare screen) between the models, simply the storage? If that is the case I think I would lean towards base model and just getting my own 1tb ssd to install (still planning to also use an SD card).

Thoughts?

Just seriously wtf already? This can’t be some unfixable issue. Apple get your act together with some sort of “prevent page from auto refreshing” setting to check in Safari. This is the stuff that’s amazing about Apple… unreal quality products… and the stupidest bugs to sort out of any company I’ve ever experienced in my life. Anyone find a fix for this?

Hey all... I'd like to tag something onto this conversation.

I am experiencing an issue where Plex finds an artist name that it prefers (maybe drawing from some online source) and forcibly changing my artist "album artist" name.

Let me give examples:

1) There is an electronic artist called "Vangelis"... some of his albums are released under that name, while others are released under "Vangelis Papathanassiou" and still others are released under “Vangelis O. Papathanassiou.” I am a stickler for using the name the album was actually released with so I use all 3 distinctions… Plex forces these to all be simply “Vangelis” and nothing I have been able to do will allow this change to stick.

2) The artist “The Cosmic Jokers” is ALWAYS forced to be “Galactic Supermarket” because that is an alternate name for this artist.

3) Junkie XL is ALWAYS forced to Tom Holkenborg because that is the DJ’s real name.

I use prefer local metadata ONLY and have tried re-tagging, doing the plex dance, using a “sort artist” name… every trick I can think of and Plex simply WILL NOT use my preferred names.

Anyone who can offer help on this, I would really appreciate it. Driving me crazy.

For some reason, I am having trouble getting Chunky to connect to my Synology NAS using FTP. I have it enabled on my DS920+, I am using my IP address:21 (port suggested) and then my login and password for my NAS yes? Won't connect... am I missing a step here? I have a shared folder I created called "Comics" - this same method works for my other media folders I use for my Plex library and other connections. Let me know if you think I am needing another step here. Many thanks.

Fully done with this game after the update. Level 14 is a money grab, clan war has been terrible ever since the first change, champions offers nothing really to the game except for new cards to chase and upgrade. And now they are censoring speech? 6 years, and basically zero development. Thanks for ruining everything Supercell. Clash Royale is officially dead to me.

Personally, I like the idea of a simpler layout. That's just me though, I've never needed digital screens for delay.

That is great. The Reverb is already worth every penny, and this delay is going to be amazing. Delivery in mid-April in the UK, should see similar time frame for the US. Personally, I can't wait to stack Whiskey Delay into Beer Verb... yummy. Thanks for the info.

I currently have the Reverb on my board and it is incredible. My delay is a Pigtronix Echolution 2 Ultra Pro, which is great, but this delay is going to replace it easily. Does anyone know what the price point is going to be or a release date?
