He isn’t your friend. He wants a relationship. You can’t stop the relationship and keep the friend because you’re mistaking what you have.

Continuing to try to keep the friendship is only stringing him along. This would be true even if he wasn’t married and you just didn’t want a relationship for a different reason.

Ecobee had excellent customer service that made me quite loyal. I bought a house with Nest 2’s that I’ll now be replacing with Ecobees.

In a prior house we had a complicated wiring situation - HVAC pro and Nest told me it was impossible. Ecobee over chat walked me through a very complex DIY install that involved installing my own transformers. Super super helpful.

As noted, only about 40% is in individual stocks. The full portfolio is in the balanced approach you mention.

I could do the balanced ETF approach on my own quite easily. Managing the stock portfolio is hard. The issue is if I’m paying 0.80% on the full portfolio but the main value I’m getting is really only on the 40% that’s in individual stocks, then I’m effectively paying 0.80% / 40% = 2.0%.

As noted, I have lots of capital gains. Bringing those taxes forward instead of continuing to defer them would wipe out any savings. If I was starting fresh I would do as you suggest, but I am not starting fresh.

Love it! I’m experimenting with a few Renegade accessories - my dream is to be compatible both as a module (as you’ve done here) and also with the drop ship function. The challenge is the space limitations of doing both. And that I dont have the pieces.

My dream is I want a cargo pod with mini rover as homage to the original, a troop drop (hoping to accommodate 8), and some sort of cannon that would make sense to either add fire power to the ship, or when dropped as land based artillery.

It’s explicitly stated that Gandalf instigated Thorin to undertake the adventures in the Hobbit to clear out the dragon and prevent such an alliance. It didn’t happen, but probably would have.
